CA BRN New Requirements For NCLEX RN international students

Published

I had already registered online in Pearson Vue but I think I'm not yet eligible to take the test. Is there an expiration date for my registration at PV?

I received a letter from CA BON requesting for new requirements such as:

  1. SS number
  2. Local license in the Philippines
  3. Copy of ur clinical rotation schedule for your cases: Assisted/Actual deliveries, cord dressing, and major/minor surgeries
  4. A complete school curriculum hundred pages or more sent directly from ur nursing school to the board. (the board doesn't accept the condensed version of the curriculum
  5. A one-page curriculum outline and academic calendar.

Fortunately, I had the first 2 requirements but I am worried that the last 3 will take time to be accomplished.

I am wondering if it's just me who have this requirement. Most of NCLEX passers I know weren't required on those listed above. It's really hard to focus on review while your thinking of this :uhoh3:

Hi does anyone know how long is the process when getting the clincial cases? Do I Inquire for my Clinical cases from PRC? Do they give you a form? How will the school get it and send it to CABRN? Thanks :)

Unitek College and Dominican University accepts (as of today) foreign graduates who have deficiencies in subjects such as OB, MS and Psych. although Unitek College is a bit pricey since its a private school, but atleast you are on your way to becoming a USRN! :)

Do you know how much is the fee for both schools mentioned above? Thanks!

Unitek College- 23k for transition class, OB and MS. next offered class will start on feb2016.

Dominican i dont know coz they said they have a waitlist, they can accommodate for fall 2016 class (not sure) but for sure its much cheaper like below 15k.

For $23,000 at Unitek, with the up front tuition, yea, I can imagine, there won't be too much of a waitlist. What's the class size?

about 30 students. yea, pricey but all schools that i tried to called doesn't offer it or on waitlist for 1-2years.
