..Ok, I read alot of posts in here about our beloved CA BRN, i was thinking ?? how long should it really take to see results online. soooo since i am waiting for my reults (still) for my second time and since i am not working anymore ..i figured i do a little computing.
OK, i have to make several assumptions (obviously) since i do not work for the CA BRN.
this is what i am going to ASSUME.
#1 I say it takes (from my opionion) approxiamtely 60 seconds for a live person to concur that one has passed and process your "file"
lets walk though this shall we:
step A-pearson view computers AUTOMATICALLY send your score to the BRN after you click the last question. Pass or fail
step B-"Bob" (lets call him that), sees your name on the conmputer (from pearson view..it says either PASS or FAIL..pretty simple here.
if PASS--then "BoB', clicks on a link on his computer with your "file", "BoB" can see if your file is complete, becasue there is a message,. that says wither "complete" or "not complete"
if 'Complete" then" Bob" clicks on a button that says something like, "issue liscense"..
the computer (arnt we glad we live in the computer age) , anyway the computer assigns you the next lisc # availible and puts it on the CA BRN website
NOW, you can time this process..and it took me 60 seconds (mock)
buts lets say................."bob" is a talker, he likes to "shoot the breeze", sooo lets put it from 60 seconds per applicant to 5 WHOLE MONUTES PER PERSON.
fair enough ?
#2 assumption--The CA BRN has 10 people whose job it is to do this "job"
#3--(actually i looked this one up) There are 13 pearson view centers in CA
#4 assumption, there are approxiamtely 5 people per day at each center taking the RN NCLEX, now..i had several people there taking other tests at the center, pearson view handles alot of different state certifications
so.
13 test centers X 5 people per test center for the RN NCLEX=65 RN NCLEX examiness per day TOTAL in CA (5 days per week)
they only test in once a day for the RN NCLEX
so, 10 CA BRN ppl assigned to "process" applications., 5 minutes per person
7 hours a day (its govnt job soo 8 hr day +lunch and breaks)
EACH BRN person can "should " process about 12 applicats per hour x 7 hour day=84 applicats per day
84 applicants per person per day, X 10 BRN employees=840 application per day in CALIFORNIA
we only have 64 applicats per day...??!!!!!! and they can process 840 ??!!!! per day (EASILY)
now, please tell me..where my math is wrong ?? im really open minded but really ??
now if you fail, that might take a minute longer cause you will have to print out an extra form (AGAIN, FROM THE COMPUTER) that tells you areas of strength and weakness
oh and plus putting a name and stamp on the envelope, WE ALL KNOW HOW TIME CONSUMING THAT IS !
JON
No, no one has...i guess thats good news for me.. ??when i start seeing their names or they tell me, then it gets worse
about the quick results, the other states that participate in quick results allow them to test just like in CA
the quick resuts, is just saying wither you PASSED or not, it's not giving you a liscence.
All we want to know is IF we passed, knowing that everything else is just "paperwork" issues.
i know if i passed the exam IM an Rn..I passed nursing school, i meet all the criteria, etc..if my schol hasnt sent my transcripts..no biggie, i now im still an RN..the trascripts exist, and will get there even if i have to drive 300 miles to hand deleiver them myself.

didnt someone in here say that since CA lets test takers take their exam without all their transcripts in yet is the reason why they dont participate in quick results?? i thought i read that here somewhere. hey jon, have any of your friends gotten their results?
