Butte College RN Program

Published

I have consecutively applied to the Butte College Nursing Program for the last 4 semesters (2 years!). When I first applied, I was aware of the waiting list but I was told that the 4th time applying would guarantee a spot in the program due to the increase in chances every semester. I just emailed the program directer who was very nice and helpful, but informed me that most students are getting in their 6th or 7th time applying! I would love to hear from others who are working toward the Butte RN program, how many times they have applied and so on...would love to hear some feedback on other's experiences!

I did a lot of research before applying but hopefully I will be able to expunge it prior to the program acceptance. Yes, the licensure board will need to see how long ago, severity of crime and any sort of rehab or such that is proveable showing changes of lifestyle. I still have a long wait and all but I was just wondering if by chance I have gotten selected on my next where I have not expunged my dui yet. Thanks

Right now most people don’t get into 7th application so hopefully you’ll be able to work things out before then.

I found this on the CA Board or Registered Nursing website.

“As of July 1, 2020, applicants will no longer be asked about prior criminal conviction history. Criminal history will be discovered upon receipt of fingerprint results. All applicants with a history of criminal conviction will have their applications referred for an additional Enforcement Division review.

Convictions within seven years from the date of application will receive a full enforcement review. The Board will not take action on any convictions that have been expunged under Penal Code section 1203.4 or dismissed; including expunged convictions within the seven years.

The Board will not take action on convictions older than seven years, with exceptions. If the applicant was convicted of a serious felony as defined in section 1192.7 of the Penal Code or a crime for which registration is required pursuant to paragraph (2) or (3) of subdivision (d) of section 290 of the Penal Code, the BRN will consider the conviction even if it is more than seven years ago.”

This is so satisfying to see. Thank you.

Has anyone got their rejection letter? Acceptance? Getting impatient over here LOL

I looked back and last fall I got the rejection in October 8th… so now I think it might be next week even

IDK one of the gals a little further up mentioned she reached out to Michelle and it’d be at the end of September, so we may still have time to find out this week.

Got my rejection letter today! Anyone else?

No, not yet. Did it come in your email?

Yes, I believe it’s the email one uses during the application/reapplication.

Just got my email. Rejection on 5th time. Only 2 more to go

Got my rejection too. So there is nothing to that transfer audit LOL.

But I got into SMU.
