Butte College RN Program

I have consecutively applied to the Butte College Nursing Program for the last 4 semesters (2 years!). When I first applied, I was aware of the waiting list but I was told that the 4th time applying would guarantee a spot in the program due to the increase in chances every semester. I just emailed the program directer who was very nice and helpful, but informed me that most students are getting in their 6th or 7th time applying! I would love to hear from others who are working toward the Butte RN program, how many times they have applied and so on...would love to hear some feedback on other's experiences!

Did anyone attend the seminar today? I had work and missed most of it. I emailed the one who coordinated it but haven’t had a response yet as to if they recorded it or not. Does anyone know?

I wish! I was in class until 1pm! I was sad to miss it. Let me know if they will send a recording. I would love to watch it!

If she emails me back I will let you know. I did hear in part of it that Michelle Simmons and someone else will be doing one as well to answer questions that everyone may have so that will be nice.

Anyone else getting anxious waiting on the next round of rejections (and hopefully acceptance)? This is time 6 for me. When do you think we will hear?

Oh yes! I am always anxious because I think there is some small chance of getting picked before the 7th application hahah

We should hear back at the end of March!!

Yes, always! I’m excessively checking my emails. Have you guys started any pre book work? I purchased a nursing bundle for some quick hacks and pharmacology to get a head start.

No, but I am taking a condensed medical assisting class to get some experience and I feel like it's really helping me get comfortable with assisting procedures and review of A+P, micro, patho, and pharm. Right now we are doing injections and blood draws!

That’s awesome, medical assisting is a huge help! Not to mention a feel of what it’s like to deal with doctors in real time. I’m currently a medical assistant and feel like I’ve learned so much already. Good luck with the rest of your course!

That's awesome! I am mostly nervous about clinicals over class work, so I feel like the hands on experience is helping me feel a little less nervous ?

Which nursing bundle did you purchase?

You’ll rock it! I would volunteer to take over in procedures right after observing it once so that you can get a feel of what it’s like and learn that procedure. We do lots of them in the office I work at. 
 

The bundle I purchased is from Etsy. The book has been filled with great info so far! I also ordered some pharm flash cards from them.
