I know there are for sure 2 of us taking it this summer. Anyone else? Figured I'd start the thread so we can help each other out through the class.

OK, I see absolutely no where that it says the Reading response memo has to be 750 words. All I can find posted is 1- 1/2 pages, which Prof. F says is correct when someone else asked. It's posted the DB should be 500-1000 words, which Prof. F also states is a "guideline" when someone else asked if we would get marked down for a shorter post.

Exactly my point, i was shocked when i was marked down for not having 750 words in fact all he said in comment section was "shoot for 750 words" .I thought 2 point reduction was a bit much. Got the same comment for DB; he is so unclear and very condescending. Are you kidding me its due when it is due, that is so rude all he has to say is the day and time. How hard is that and it is his fault since he posted two different due dates.In addition he does not answer any question appropriately, i am wondering if his brain is working in that same instance he asks the student what is she talking about? when she clearly stated and even copied and pasted the facts.

That was the same comment I got.. shoot for 750 words. I wonder if it was him or a TA who did the grading? No comments about what was wrong, besides the word comment, and for mine that I didn't put Conclusion as a header. I just don't get it. I guess I need to get working on the extra credit. It's so much work for not many points though.

I've been working on the extra credit, cause I know I'm going to need it. Can you believe 500-1000 words for an answer to a discussion board question. A page to a page and a half for the reading response, I don't think this week's article was much over 1000 words. For awhile the book was putting me asleep, I'm going to do the review tonight, I work Thurs. and Friday. I couldn't even find out what that next big project entails, so how can I prepare? I find him very condescending. I wanted to ask him to restate the question because I didn't understand it, when I first read it, but I knew he would make me look stupid. I had to ask my DH for interpretation (he's not an English geek or communication-wise person).

Where is this "750 word minimum" listed at? I can't find this requirement anywhere. I got dinged for it too. I'm as frustrated with this stupid class like the rest of you. Having to do the initial response on DB in one day is just total BS.

It is listed somewhere - I think the reading response directions (it might say a page to a page and a half - Prof P told us around 750 words when asked). I took this class in January - and it wasn't difficult. If you are using Office 2010 - there is a word count at the bottom of the page - use it, and add just a little more. You will be fine. Large projects are Book Review; Creative Problem solving project, and Ethics project. I took this class combined with nursing classes and while it could be time consuming, I did not find it difficult. This was an easy A - I ended up with a 99.8 without extra credit

Yeah it just says a page to a page and half, yet they are marking people down for not having 750 words.. not really fair since that wasn't specified. I had close to 700 words. None of it is hard, it's just a lot of work. Was yours over 10 weeks? Thats the other thing, is we are doing ours in 8 weeks.

Yes - mine was a 10 wk class. But losing two weeks really wouldn't have mattered - there were weeks that I did nothing - supposedly working on planning documents - about 4 hours of time spent there! My projects were completed in 1 or 2 days - even the last one.

You had a different instructor too...that can make a difference.

Down to the wire and i am doing my book review.1000 words cant come soon enough.I still didnt even do the reaading response, this week is a bit heavy with DB, book review and reading response. Oh well!

For the word count is it the total including the sub-headings or is it just the actual content. I am now at 1020 but i figure i better do a little more since this number includes the headings.
