Business Comp (summer)

I know there are for sure 2 of us taking it this summer. Anyone else? Figured I'd start the thread so we can help each other out through the class.

Did you guys use proper APA for the reading response or just follow his format exactly. I am not sure if i should double space and make sure reference is on separate page or just do it as he has it.[/quote

I went exactly by his format. I didn't do any citations in my discussion board post and I probably should have :(

I didn't either. I think I may go back and add the reference to my discussion. I have to do my reading response. I almost forgot about it.. uh oh, lol

Okay its only been 7 days, but I'm not liking Prof F's Business Comm class. I found the book "Difficult Conversations" wordy to say the least, and only 1 day to do the discussion board questions. It's not hard, just time consuming, especially if you work. I work 12hrs every other Mon & Tues, or Sat & Sun. I know this is terrible to say, and I'm trying to keep an open mind, but I'll be glad when this class is over.

I'm feeling the same way. This Monday due date for the first post is insane. I don't understand the rush of getting it in the first day of the week. I forgot about it this week, and realized at 11pm. While I was at work. Luckily my job is quiet at night and I could do it.

To be honest, I started out really reading reading it, but then started skimming parts of it. I got the general gist of it, and figure I can go back and re-read parts that I may need. It was putting me to sleep.

This class is annoying and i only got a 3 on my reading reesponse. What the heck! seriously seven weeks can't come soon enough.

How do you edit stuff in BB? I still cant figure it out and i use to use BB at my old school and i found it more user friendly; i think it was a different version though.

I have got to gripe, sorry for back to back post but i just don't get why the darn book review is due on Friday and not Sunday. Did you notice the syllabus said, first DB should be posted by day 1 or 2 and a student asked for clarification and no answer. Seriously what the hell is the emergency.

Yeah, I don't understand not giving the weekend to allow us to write the report. There are so many people who work full time, and he is not very considerate of that. I've seen where he answered questions, without even answering. He told someone it's due when it's stated it's due. They were asking clarification based on it saying 2 different things, in 2 different spots. I agree, I can't wait for this class to be over.

I haven't got any grades yet. Going to check now...

Did they say what you did wrong?

I got 4.10 out of 5 on my Reading response, because I forgot to label CONCLUSION, and I was short words. I counted my To: Professor, my name, all that in it I think, so it wasn't 750 words.

Make sure you are using enough words on everything. I got full credit for my first discussion though, and got the comment Excellent participation. I'm not sure how many words I used for week 2 though, because I did it last minute. It's just so hard to find info.. everything is in a different spot. I need to go review how many words they want for each thing and write it down.

OK, I see absolutely no where that it says the Reading response memo has to be 750 words. All I can find posted is 1- 1/2 pages, which Prof. F says is correct when someone else asked. It's posted the DB should be 500-1000 words, which Prof. F also states is a "guideline" when someone else asked if we would get marked down for a shorter post.
