If you haven't already looked at other schools, i would do that. BCC's nursing program is getting harder and harder. The passing grade now is 80. If you end up with a 79 you get an F on your transcript. The program needs a lot of work. I am in my final semester and I can't wait to be done. I would only recommend BCC as a final choice.
I wish someone would have told me that earlier. I only applied to BCC. They sent out acceptance letters but told me I was not accepted because they did not have my transcipt. Someone at BCC messed that up for me. I sent ANOTHER transcript to BCC and they put me on the waiting list. Because of there error I lost out on my first chance to get in.
I got accepted into the Fall program and wish there was something closer for me. I live about 10 - 15 mins from the Pemberton campus. Everything else would be close to an hour for me. I have heard that it is hard and teachers can be clique-y - that if they don't like you, it will be that much harder for you. And I also heard not to get on anyone's bad side for any reason. As for the grades, I do know that you have to get an 80 at the lowest, and there are tests that you take that are either pass or fail. But Helene Fuld passing is 78. And it's 3 years, versus 2. I think with every school, there is good with bad, and you just have to know what you can handle.
Well after 3 weeks I finally got a call back about the denial I got due to not having BIO 120/121 which I fulfilled in high school Biology with a lab. They had my high school transcript, but didn't think I had Biology because it was abbreviated on my transcript as "BSCE". So they said I had to have my high school send them a letter confirming the name and course description. I will be applying again for Spring 2010 and will have all prereqs done this time, so I am hoping to get in. I went to Our Lady of Lourdes yesterday and they said the soonest I could start is Spring 2011 and I really can't wait that long.
I know it sounds hard but I try to think of it as if I were the patient. I would feel much better knowing the stardards are higher for nurses. Look at all the nursing errors in the news. I just hope I get in after they lost my transcript. I cannot imagine waiting another year or ecen 6 months which I hear the evening program is even harder to get into. Did you get in on your first try?

Just wondering if anyone else is applying to Burlington County College for Fall 2009?
Also, I would be curious to hear from current students as to what they think of the program.
