Burlington County College Fall 2009?

U.S.A. New Jersey

Published

Just wondering if anyone else is applying to Burlington County College for Fall 2009?

Also, I would be curious to hear from current students as to what they think of the program.

Congrats to you guys! I'm still plugging away trying to finish my prereqs. Have Bio 114/115, Bio 155/156, Soc, Math 107, Chem 210, Psy 256 and an elective to go. I feel like I'm not going to be able to apply for another year or so. It's getting me down and I started looking into Jefferson. They have a 2 year, no prereq program but it's alot of money. I'm just getting frustrated that I need all my prereqs done even before applying (which means I'll be even waiting a semester of doing nothing if I'm taking prereqs while applying and they won't take that into consideration.) What other programs has anyone looked into besides BCC? LOL or GCC??? Anyone looked into Jefferson/Penn etc?

I had to sit out this semester while I was waiting, I hated it and it made me nervous. I had no more classes left to take and I really didn't want to pay to take classes that wouldn't help me get in. I looked into Helene Fuld when I started at BCC but I thought the 2 year program would be a better idea (although at the time I didn't know It would take 2 years to finish the pre-req's before they would accept me.) I quickly looked into programs at bigger colleges/universities like and so on but the tuition didn't interest me at all. I figured I would be much better off keeping tuition low at BCC.

Glad to hear you got in. I was very exited and was afraid I would be sitting out next semester waiting. I just hope the next 6 months goes by fast so we can get started. I had to get a jump start on my back round check as well. They are only giving us 10 days to do. I hope it does not take that long.

I was worried about the same thing so I started it right away, I haven't talked to anyone at BCC yet but I called ADAM safeguard of new jersey and asked about how long it took, they said of the three parts to the background check two of them were already done as of the third day when I called. The last part they were waiting to hear back from the state of new jersey records and that takes 7-10 business days so I was worried but if you gave them your email they will notify you as soon as they send BCC the results. Also they told me that at any time BCC could log into their site and see how far along they were on a persons background check, so they can see that ours should almost be done. Hopefully it finishes soon and I don't have to worry about it anymore. See you in the fall.

Thanks for the info. I am also worried about BCC getting my acceptance paper and my deposit. I tried contacting them yesterday on the phone and in person and nobody knew how to look into it.

Well long story short, they would not accept my high school biology and now I need to take BIO 120/121 in Summer I. Good news is they did say last year they waited until Summer grades were in before making any decisions for Spring. So I am sending in the intent to enroll for Spring 2010 and hoping it works out, since I will have everything done. Our Lady of Lourdes told me I was looking at Spring 2011 start, which is way too long! Congrats to those of you starting Fall 2009 and please keep us updated about how things go now that you are in!

Good luck and I hope it works out for you in spring.

I just got back from singing up for NUR - 119 section 02. Anyone else in that section?

I just signed up for nur 119 section 01. I wanted 01 or 02 because of the days. I believe we all have lecture together.

Neat, I wonder if we will have lab and hospital together since they are supposed to be at the same time. See you there.

Did you take any classes in the current semester spring 09? If so what? Are all of your classes completed(pre and co reqs).

Actually I didn't take any classes this semester, I had finished all of my pre-reqs and co-reqs. All I have left are the NUR classes. I really hated sitting out a semester and waiting for the nursing program but I didn't want to pay for a semesters worth of classes that wouldn't count towards my goals. Can't wait to get back to school in the fall.
