  1. in pa, there is a new way to check backgrounds, and speaking only for Pa., juvenile stuff does show up. so if ur i. Pa, run ur on background on the state police website, the one the schools and hospitals will use for employment. Best bet is to get them expunged by paying for a lawyer. BC it is NOT sealed like they tell u it is.....trust me

  3. i have a friend who is gonig to be applying to nursing school for january and he has a juvenile record, and did not disclose it, he said it is sealed by the court when you are 18. And the application specifically says "you do not have to disclose any charges that have been sealed or expunged by the court", but i'd still be a little worried....does anyone know of anyone that did not disclose this? and if so, did they still get their license??
  4. a friend of mine graduated from an associates program, did the intern, and was promised a job with passing of the boards, and is now happily working there as an RN, so dont worry about not having the BSN
  5. i know there was recently an open house at temple for new grads, and they hired all there slots. so they do hire new grads, but they probaly just filled up all the slots, looks like we just missed :). but i do know a manager ther, and she said, "i will always tell you to go ahead and apply, regardless"
  6. yep agree wit habove. i am 2 months away from graduating from aria, and only need five more classes to get a BSN through Penn States online RN to BSN program, which is way ahead than any CCP graduate. The associates and the diploma make no difference. Aria's program is a few months longer than a community college, but like i said i am way closer to my BSN, also way more clinical experience.
  7. thanks, i will. good luck to u too. dont worry too much about the teas, its pretty basic. if u have the money, take the online practice test it gives u a good feel of the actual test and u can kind of see where your at with it.
  8. i dunno, they say they want a 70 and higher. I would call Aimee at admissions, and ask her, she is good like that, she will tell you
  9. yes. my gpa was a 3.67 and my teas score was only a 74.
  10. no, you can take the pen state courses right at frankford. the penn state professors come to frankford
  11. yes, they accept 60
  12. my grades are mostly a's and a few b's, my gpa is a 3.7. But, my score on the teas was only a 73. I know a good gpa is the main thing they want to see. Just make sure you meet the deadlines and follow the application instructions exactly. Let me know if you have any questions abotu the pre-reqs, b/c most people get confused with that. When will you be applying?
  13. congratulations, me too, are you going to the acceptance day?
  14. anyone starting at frankford for the fall of 2009?
