BSWH Residency Summer 2018

Hey Guys!

Applications opened today!! Wanted to start a thread for discussion.

Do you think you can send me the recruiters email?!

I find it odd that they now don't have any women services positions available for the dallas location. When I initially applied, they had many women's services positions listed (OB, maternal newborn, L&D, NICU, ante and post partum).......I haven't heard back yet from Anna, but I'll let yall know what she says!

@TechNursing711 One of them said just 2 days ago they hired 2 nurses already within the baylor system. She did say, no one ones if a postition may pop up from here until when the internship starts. There might or might not be an opening later.

Well that sucks; I guess I'll have to look at other hospitals. Thanks for the info!

Heads up for the people talking about Women's services. THR opened their residencies yesterday and there are a ton of those residencies in multiple locations.

BTW I was emailed "We have received many applications so please be patient we are still going through them!" So I guess there's still hope lol

finally found a thread for baylor. wohooo.. I got 3 different locations to do the digital interview and a recruiter spoke to me this week asking some questions and saying there would be an in person interview next month. But then again Medsurg is my first choice so maybe thats why.

Finally got a digital interview guys!! It was for Mclane

hey y'all so I'm a new nurse in the ED at Baylor Dallas (BUMC) so a few things...

general bswh things:

-the online application unfortunately doesn't let you rank your choices, but its not the end of the world, as i'm sure most of you have noticed by now, the recruiter will get in contact with you and figure out what other locations and specialities you're open to

-women's services people, also incredibly difficult in the DFW area, but sometimes the closer you get to graduation jobs will open up...in november 2 L&D positions opened up at all-saints, which is later than most people wanted to take a job

-OR, another sought out position, and again, some people were able to get OR jobs later in the game, like in december

-after the assessment, comes the digital interview, then the recruiter should be in contact with you to set up an in person interview--that interview might not take place for a while

ed things:

-you'll have a great experience in the ED, regardless of location

-you can still be a new grad in the ED without previous ED tech experience

-BUMC is the most sought after ED position in the Baylor system

-the interview will ask you behavioral and situational questions

Thanks for the info!

I finally got a digitical interview request for ED at Waxahachie. I am still waiting on BUMC.

For those who have done digital interviews can you tell me more about them? Like how do they work? TIA

They'll ask a prerecorded question to you and then you'll have a certain amount of time to think of an answer and then you record your answer. You have three tries for each question, I think the max time was 2 min and 30 sec for each question.
