They'll ask a prerecorded question to you and then you'll have a certain amount of time to think of an answer and then you record your answer. You have three tries for each question, I think the max time was 2 min and 30 sec for each question.

I'm a new grad nurse in the ED and I always have a sharpie, a few pens, whiteboard marker, trauma shears, stethoscope, iv needles, and flushes in my pockets. As far as other traits go, definitely the ability to just jump in all hands on deck when needed, help out coworkers, know what's going on with your patient and start to expect orders from the doc, be able to voice your concerns when a patient is truly sick, and I think the biggest thing (that i'm still trying to accept) is that you're not going to be perfect and not everything will always get done before shift change (i.e. I had two severe sepsis patients that both needed blood cultures, fluids, abx, etc. and it was already 6:30 when all the orders were being put in)

I graduated in December, didn't receive my ATT until the beginning of January and was able to take nclex on 1/22, which was over a month post-grad...so really there's no guarantee when you'll be able to test. I purchased the 6 month subscription back in august for u-world and used that as my main study tool not just for nclex, but all my nursing school classes and the exit hesi (scored around 1100 on exit hesi thanks to u-world)

hey y'all so I'm a new nurse in the ED at Baylor Dallas (BUMC) so a few things... general bswh things: -the online application unfortunately doesn't let you rank your choices, but its not the end of the world, as i'm sure most of you have noticed by now, the recruiter will get in contact with you and figure out what other locations and specialities you're open to -women's services people, also incredibly difficult in the DFW area, but sometimes the closer you get to graduation jobs will open up...in november 2 L&D positions opened up at all-saints, which is later than most people wanted to take a job -OR, another sought out position, and again, some people were able to get OR jobs later in the game, like in december -after the assessment, comes the digital interview, then the recruiter should be in contact with you to set up an in person interview--that interview might not take place for a while ed things: -you'll have a great experience in the ED, regardless of location -you can still be a new grad in the ED without previous ED tech experience -BUMC is the most sought after ED position in the Baylor system -the interview will ask you behavioral and situational questions
