Power points are designed to emphasize key points that you want to make, in addition to pictures or graphs that demonstrate what you are talking about at that moment. Do your instructors use powerpoints? It is the same concept.

Your CAPSTONE project should reflect YOUR input, not ours.

I need some ideas honestly. Just looking to spark my brain storming

Do you get to choose your topic? The powerpoint I did in Capstone was a group project and the topic was kind of assigned; a QI project on how to improve flow-through of patients through a day surgery unit. Later we had to do an individual paper on healthcare reform (pick some aspect of healthcare reform that directly affects your patient population). The student could make any stance on healthcare reform they wanted, but it had to relate to the patient population they served.

If you get to just choose a topic, what's the nursing thing that you are passionate about? What sets you off or gets you ranting or raving at work? What question from your patients will spark a 15 minute discussion/teaching session even when you don't really have time? That's my suggestion for your capstone project.

You tube might be helpful.....what is your capstone topic about?

Hi, it is about patient safety. I just don't know how to fill 10 slides with info the professor will truly enjoy reading. don't want to bore...

Right...you need to get your creative juices going. I seriously doubt anyone will send you their power point presentation. People here enjoy their anonymity. There are plenty of ideas to make it interesting...make it like a I've fallen and I can't get up video. Show a patient slipping and sliding to the bathroom

THe is plenty of information out there....

I have completed the assignment but it is not due for a few days. The professor requires 20-25 minutes of speaker notes and I have about 10-12 mins. I believe I will have to add graphs and statistics to consume time. Thank you for your help all

NYCertified, I am beginning my Capstone now and would truly appreciate being able to see your final product so that I can make sure I am headed in the right direction for my project. Would you be willing to share?

Refocus on the point here.

You want to include statistics and graphs not "to consume time," but to support your ideas.

The topic is almost not important; the faculty is trying to see if you have learned about some (any!) nursing topic that has piqued your interest (life-long learning is a given in nursing-- did you get that?), whether you can demonstrate how you learned to think critically about it, and whether you can demonstrate your ability to communicate to your peers about said important topic.
