Broward College starting Jan 2013

Have been hearing that BC will be requiring math prerequisite and may be dropping Chemistry pre-req for nursing program for students starting Jan 2013. Please post any specific information you have received from the school. I have emailed them but have not heard back. The people on the phone are not exactly sure what's going to happen.

Thats weird.i also applied at central and i got points..even hosa points.. idk hopefully we hear something by next week..

FYI: The new admission guidelines clearly states what the new requirements are check post #130 for details.

Did you apply to nursing school before the current period? Could the points showing be points which were awarded for a prior semester when they were awarding them?

Nope..this is the first semester i applied.. and when i dropped off the application i brought hesi scores, hosa cert, and hcp cert from sheridan...the lady told me how many points i had and it shows on my bc also..

I know what the requirements are..but the health admissions person told me otherwise..she told me my points and sent my hosa info to nursing dept for credit.. but like i said i dunno, every one is getting conflicting info.. i dont care what they use i just want to get in lol

I agree, as long as I'm in I'm happy (: ! I applied at central and got my points also. But idk the info keeps changing and even at the same campus we are getting opposite answers... I don't even think we have the same status update so I don't know... This is a mess :/BC needs to organize this better and get us all on the same page!!!(Including the staff)

OMG I keep reading all of these different hings that I don't know what to believe! I turned in my application and I haven't received any points for anything. I read somewhere that someone turned in their HOSA certificate in with their application. I took HOSA in high school but I didn't receive a certificate for completing it. Wouldn't that just show up in my high school transcripts? I'm getting nervous now that I won't get those five extra point=/

It should be on ur transcripts.. it is more nerve wrecking this term bcuz all these changes and more changes as well as none of the staff is on the same page.. so we r all getting different answers..

I handed my app to the lady at central. She calculated and told me my GPA and said no points would be awarded for Jan admission. Only HESI and GPA to be considered. I don't have any points awarded on BC limited access page. What a confusing mess! I hope they figure out whatever they're doing soon...
