Have been hearing that BC will be requiring math prerequisite and may be dropping Chemistry pre-req for nursing program for students starting Jan 2013. Please post any specific information you have received from the school. I have emailed them but have not heard back. The people on the phone are not exactly sure what's going to happen.

My GPA is 3.24.... I hope they just haven't added all of my other stuff because if I don't get in that will suck!
You should have 8 points for your GPA if you have a 3.24 for your pre-req classes. I think it's most likely an error. Anyway, many applicants who've posted on this board have a similar GPA to yours and what seems like high HESI scores. I'm hopeful that we will ALL get in, at least us on this board. :)

I always assumed my program of study GPA meant my nursing prereqs because my I claimed nursing as my major.

I agree... i think its an error too..bcuz alot of people's status changed to in review today.. they r probably just working on it.. i wouldn't lose faith.. we still have a few weeks before the deadline.. im sure its too soon to tell.. and Larimar 7 said, we all have gpa's and hesi's that are very close.. dont give up just yet :)

Changed to Application in Review today. And received points, too although none for HESI. What's going on?

Yes, and they gave me 1 point for being a Broward resident. The whole thing is major messed up since I was told 2 weeks ago that the admission decision would be based on pre-req GPA and HESI score only. Not HOSA, not residency, not those points. So I go from being confident one minute to fearful the next...:(

OMG my status changed... It says denied because of low GPA=/!!!! I only have 1 point for being a Broward resident. There aren't any GPA points or points for HOSA, and I was in HOSA! However there was this little disclaimer on the screen

" Program Notes: Please allow reasonable processing time for items to reflect changes.

This screen is for information purposes only, and is not intended to imply eligibility for program acceptance.

Please contact the Program application office if you have questions about the information on this screen."

Does that mean they still haven't calculated my GPA and my HOSA points and that I still haven't been denied for sure?! IDK what to think='(

I have the same thing!!! Okay so glad you have it as well. I think it just means they haven't awarded us all the points yet. I have hosa hesi and GPA section blank. Ill go in tomorrow and ask

I think it has to do with hosa then.. mine shows denied-pending dept approval.. but its been like that since i turned my app in and the health admissions person told me it would say that until the nursing dept reviewed my hs transcript and finalized/approved the hosa... let us know what they say when u go in..

I think some people are getting confused here... Your overall gpa is NOTTT the prerequisite gpa! And the gpa the nursing department counts is the prerequisite only! Which for this semester includes Chem, A/P 1 & 2 plus the labs, and English 1101! From those classes only you calculate your gpa and that's what they look at... FYI it needs to be a 3.0 or better. This might be why some of you got the denied post...

I think you need to recalculate your GPA and remember, only count you pre-requirement classes.

OMG I hope so! I was about to pass out lol I think last night was the worst sleep I've ever gotten... For my prerequ Grades I got an A,B,C,B,and one last B. What kind of GPA does that leave me at for prereqs?

They have changed the prerequisites from chemistry to math classes. And it's possible that they are adding microbiology into the mix as well.
