Has anyone turned in their application yet?! Btw, I heard that Central campus might NOT have a May class
i think its around $466. They come with ebooks, but I myself would not use them because I prefer looking at the book and reading and not my computer. Others are different. Based on the ebook prices, there is a savings. Based on the non-ebook prices, there is not, especially if you buy the books online like I did. I saved a lot doing that. I also did not use 2 of the books at all that are in the bundle, but you can always try selling those on half.com or something if you feel like you would really like the ebook option and find that you won't use those 2 books either.
Thanks for the quick reply Sunray.
Another question, can we purchase the NS supplies (uniforms, steth, etc.) the same day following orientation? Do they provide us with a list of things we will need to purchase then? And do Central and North campus student wear the same uniforms & lab coats? I mean color and style wise...
Sorry, I thought I only had one question.
You can purchase stuff in the book store at anytime, however I think there are only certain periods to buy where they will accept returns, which are usually at the beginning of the terms throughout the semester. And certain items, such as uniforms, if opened are non-refundable but I think they will take them for exchange, so try on anything @ the store before you buy it. The uniforms are the same at all three campuses. At orientation, they will tell you some of what you need to buy, but then you will have a more in depth orientation at your campus closer to the beginning of the start of school. At north, its the first week of classes. Like they didn't tell us our sneakers had to be all white at the big orientation, but I had already known that. They told us at north the first week of school.
Can someone please explain the HOSA to me? I am trying to get as many points on my application as possible.Thank you
HOSA (like someone just explained) is a program you take in High School, the rule was before that you can only get the 5 points if its been less than 2 yrs but the rules have changed now it doesnt matter how long ago you had HOSA you still get the points.....I got my 5 points from HOSA and I graduated high school 2004.....just my 2 cent:twocents:..
Hi Everyone after reading 17 pages of this post I am well informed....thank you all....I put in my application for BC North campus Nursing on Dec 10. and still I don't have points posted. I also applied to UM accelerated Nursing program and just received an acceptance letter yesterday. I already have a BS in Finance and dreamed of being a Doctor since I was a child. Long story short I live by North campus of BC and have heard awful things of UM Nursing program. Although UM Accelerated Option is only 12 months beginning in May and gives a BSN, it has a tremendous cost attachment, not to mention a great long distance drive. I want to make sure I choose a program that better prepares me for the real world of nursing. Please if anyone has any information. Please share. Thanks alot!
Hi Sunray,
Thanks again for all of your replies. Outside of class time, how many hours do you think you study per week? I'm trying to get an idea as far as time management goes-even though May is a long way off. I'm sure my time will fly because of work, kids, etc.
ps, I just ordered the 6th edition Fundamentals of Nursing (perry & potter) and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. I hope it not too daunting...
Hey JonathanL,
Well, today's the last day for applications. Just a few more weeks of nail bitting. I think if your job is pretty flexible work is def possible, though try not to bite off more than you can chew. The idea of not working (so much) is a hard pill to swallow, especially with bills, rent/mortg., etc. They just keep rolling in every month. I guess it depends on how disciplined and organized we are. I wish I could stop working completely, but I dunno. Too many obligations. And when I look around and at all of the people that I know whom are not currently working I cringe. Makes it hard to give up work...
