Hello. Has anyone attending Broward College applied for the fall 2010 rn program as of yet??:thankya:
Yes the CPR class is where you learn how to do CPR and AED. It has to be American Heart Association @ BC, and its BLS for healthcare workers (or something like that, lol). Check your card. It's good for 2 years, so you will have to renew it while in the program sometime. You will not be able to take the course through CEU fast. Its the only one (because it has a face-to-face component).
I started this august. your not accepted into the program until you go to the preadmission meeting and complete the req tests and paperwork for them. as long as you pass your phy, criminal and drug then yes you are. just a heads up do whatever fun things you can now cause come jan there seriously is not much time to do anything else. When they say 20-25 hrs on process alone they are not playing around they really mean that. plus math and pharm and clinicals you will be super busy. this is the weed out class. be prepared mentally and do not let them psych you out. I am a straight A student and the first exam I literally studied ALL the time. When i took the test i thought it was easy and some how I got a high C. The vast majority got C's and secondly were D's. only a couple people got B's and i didnt even hear of any A's. Do yourself a favor and see if they will accepted a pharm class before you enter the program. It will save you time. Also get the math book and start looking over it those are the head starts i would reccommend. which campus are you going to|?
I know I am not officially accepted until I finish those tests (drug, criminal tests)... Rather I meant has anyone received the "priority seating in Jan" email and does it mean we'll definitley get into the preadmission meeting?... I guess I'll need to go down to the campus and talk to someone. Thank you for your tips... I believe I will be attending the north campus.
honestly i like the fact im in nursing students but a lot of my class mates feel maybe it would of been a little less stressful if we went to a different school like pbcc. they are way too negative. the whole first semster is to weed out the week. they try to get you stressed and nervous instead of helping you adjust to nursing school. I ALWAYS got A's before nursing school. not just A's but 96+ 96 being my low scores. the first process exam i got a 76% the majority of people did worse. I spend ALL my time studying. i usually stop my days at 9pm so i can relax. dont count on a full day or half day to do something fun cause its not going to happen at least not in the first semester cant tell you about after the first semester. The upper classmen told me the same thing im telling you and i thought i was special and i wouldnt feel the same way. well i do. if you can apply to pbcc i would do that. i have never heard any negative things about their program. I've heard nothing but negative things about BC's program. so its up to you. however, BC has a rep for producing awesome nurses and half incredibily high nclex pass rates. if you have anymore questions about the program pm me and i'd be more than happy to give you any advice you may need.
