Broward college nursing program 2020

Published

Hello!

I'm a prospective nursing student for January 2020 at Broward college! I know I am super early but I am just overwhelmed with excitement! I took my HESI test yesterday, and to be honest I wasn't sure I would pass. I gave myself enough time to re-take it again in 30 days and then submit my application. Well.... I studied for 13 days straight and I passed!!! If you'd like some tips, I'd be happy to share. Just let me know. I submitted my application today, so fingers crossed. I know it will be a while but I am happy I finally made it this far. Hope to hear from any other applicants! ?

Where did you order your books through? I haven't gotten them yet and not sure best way to go about getting them!

I bought most of them through eBay. They were really cheap. The rest through the bookstore. Apparently there’s a bundle through the bookstore but I didn’t get the price nor the books that were in it.

I've ordered a majority of my books from amazon, but i also got the bundle from the book store. I have a friend that started the nursing program in fall and she said the bundle was worth it and that she does use sherpath. Which sherpath is very expensive on it's own. I believe it's $199 for fundamentals and $229 for med-surg. Also when I ordered my books on amazon, I made sure to get new books for all the ones that require access.

Also I forgot to mention that the bookstore will price match with books you find on amazon. So if you'd rather go to the bookstore to get your books, but want to get them cheaper, tell them you found the books on amazon for cheaper and they'll look them up.

I have heard such conflicting things on Sherpath. I hear from some to not bother with it and from others to get it!

Which books should we get from the list on the packet? There are so much or do they tell u at orientation? I am attending south campus and have had orientation yet.

They really didn’t tell us which books at the orientation. There were some students that talked to us and told us to story going through the Foundations book. Hygiene and infection control. I got all of the books on the list.

Does anyone know if you have to wear your white shoes as well to the orientation as your scrubs? Thanks

Check with your program office on the campus, especially South Campus. In the past they have had to be in full uniform
