Broward College Nursing Program January 2017

Published

Hello to all the future Applicants for the January 17' nursing program. I know it's really early and August admission process hasn't been completed yet but I couldn't help my self. I'm so anxious to get in the program it took me a long time to get to this point. I have completed all the pre reqs that have an affect on your gpa and I have a 3.0. I recently just passed the Hesi for the second try with a 76% in anatomy, 92% in math and 80% in the other 3 sections. I'm in MGF1106 right now grades will post early Aug. so I'm going to turn in the Application right after that. I hope this forum can be used for all us to get through this waiting process together.

Well that was kind of a sarcastic comment, my bad, I have a middle class salary and I never got financial aid. I paid my AA completely out of pocket while working. But in nursing school I can't work. If I do my 2016 fafsa I would definitely not qualify.

Def try. You may never know.

You can still qualify for loans... I know, not ideal and we try to stay away from them but you can het them. If your income changes (you stop working, etc), FA can do an income adjustment. Also, try Career Source. They will help you pay for school also. It works a little different than financial aid.

Happy Friday:wideyed: The wait is over!!! Decisions today:roflmao:

Man I seriously just want to take a minute to say how impressed I am with Nichole. This lady posts stuff before she even gets to work, during her time off. It's hard to find this type of commitment and desire to work with and for people out there. I can't express my thanks enough. I've met her in person and virtually, or face to face, she is one of the kindest people I've ever met.

So since statuses change today, does that mean within the next 24hrs emails will go out tomorrow or would it be Monday because of the weekend?

She is seriously amazing. I was thinking that yesterday! You're amazing Nichole!!! We are all so so so thankful for you, more than you will ever know! :inlove:

Emails go out today as well from what I understand

3.0s and below where yal at?! Lol

Joining in on the conversation. I must say. I was stalking the entire day yesterday just reading some of your comments. I must have check this page about 100 times. I put in my application months ago but the closer it get the more anxious I feel. :) I just want to say we are holding on....... From the looks of some of the comments on here, I do not see a reason why we would not get into the program. Unless there are students with GPAs higher that 3.5........

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully by noon we will hear something and will have something to celebrate this weekend.

As far as the other student that was asking about Financial AID. The only time you do not qualify for Pell Grants is when you have a Bachelors. I do not qualify because I have a bachelors in another field already. However you do qualify for Loans. I been walking around with an application from Broward Career source. Some of the criterias are: watch 3 30min videos online, answer questions, print completions, sign up at Employ Florida(this I already did years ago when I was desperately job hunting) and speak to a success coach. I spoke to someone and was told the application takes about 5 weeks.

I will be quitting my current full-time job when I get notice that I am accepted. I have continuously prayed about this...... I have a strong support system.
