Hello!
I just wanted to make a thread for nursing program at BC for this coming Fall semester.
I passed the Hesi last week after 4 days of studying. (Got tired of studying the Elvesier book so I took my chances)
My overall score: 85%. My lowest score's reading: 78% ( English is my second language and I took this section last so didn't have enough time to really read the questions)
I turned in my application last Wednesday. The lady said to look for an email around May- June.
Anyone is applying for Fall? Did your status on myBC change yet?
Hi Guys, so I called the Health Science Department this morning to get an update on my application not being in the system yet. And they mentioned how they're still processing applications and that everything should be in by the end of the week. So I brought up how the acceptance date is June 15th, so that is the only reason why I was worried. She did say that if by June 15th they're still backed up then for sure we will hear by the end of the week. She mentioned there are only three people in charge of the applications so that's why. She also said that if she had my application she would've moved me up so she could've inputted it but unfortunately out of the three she didn't have my application. Oh and she was from North Campus.Just thought I would share this with you guys, don't mind any grammar errors lol
Do you know the name of the person you spoke to?
You take Pharm in the first semester or before you start the program. I'm not sure if Broward recommends that but I am a transfer from PBSC and they recommended we take it over the summer. I am in it right now and I study almost every day!
BC does not offer Pharm for students who are not in the RN program. If you are taking Pharm somewhere else, I suggest making sure that BC accepts that PHARM class in place of the one taken in the RN program.

I went in person last week to North campus in health science department and one of the advisors in charge of the applications said I need to send the transcript in once I finish the class next month. I'm not sure but I hope it is accepted, thank you!

Hi Nichole, can you confirm if what the person told her about the end of the week is correct or will we still be finding out by the original date of the 15th still?

If the advisors said that the Pharm class would be accepted, then ok. My advise is just so you make sure you are not wasting your time or money on a class that is not transferable.
Also, advising has nothing to do with the admissions process for the RN program. It is handled only through the Health Science Admissions office.

We anticipate decisions being made by the 15th. However, like with anything, if unforeseen events happen, they may be postponed.
The best advice I can give is to sit tight and keep an eye on your MYBC account and emails. Once the statuses are changed, within 24 hours emails will be sent to your BC email. Please do not start calling and emailing once you see your status change. Chances are we have not changed everyone's status and have not sent out the emails.

I thank you for the advice. I really hope I didn't have to waste my time & money. I also spoke with Geniece over email as well regarding Pharm, the Program Advisor for Health Sciences I believe? She said to send it in once the course is complete so I'm hoping that means it can be accepted.
