Hello!
I just wanted to make a thread for nursing program at BC for this coming Fall semester.
I passed the Hesi last week after 4 days of studying. (Got tired of studying the Elvesier book so I took my chances)
My overall score: 85%. My lowest score's reading: 78% ( English is my second language and I took this section last so didn't have enough time to really read the questions)
I turned in my application last Wednesday. The lady said to look for an email around May- June.
Anyone is applying for Fall? Did your status on myBC change yet?
My financial aid isn't showing yet I applied in the beginning of May. I'm a transfer from Miami dade college I already have my AA so what exactly is the "backup plan for financial aid"?
Well I don't have an AA but since I took al the required classes for nursing beside the actual nursing classes, I picked classes that would go towards my BSN.
Hi Guys! I've been reading this forum since it first started but this is my first comment on it.
I turned in my application the beginning of May, and I still have not gotten an update on my limited access application. It made me think it got lost somehow. I did email Nichole and she said that "the order received has no baring on when they are entered in the system".
Still, I'm freaking out. We've been waiting for SO long! :-(
To clear up some confusion, there is no one in the pre-admissions status at the moment. If ANY applications were incorrectly entered in that status, they have been changed. All statuses will be changed on the same day. Emails will be sent out within 24 hours after the status changes are made.
Until you receive an official email from the Health Science Admissions team, your status may change more than once.
I will not be too active on the board until after decisions are made, so please keep the following reminders in mind:
Hello RN Applicants for August!
Just a few reminders from the Health Science Admissions Office:
** We are in the process of entering everyone's application before decisions can be made. Please do not email us with "My friend applied after me and their information is in, but mine is not." The order applications are received has no baring on the order they are entered. Everyone will be in before we make decisions.
** To monitor the status of your application, log in to your MYBC account and click on limited access application status. Once we enter your information in the system, it will show up there. Please do not call or email us asking what your status is. If you feel there is an error once your status is updated, then email us. Do not post asking others to help you. I am the only person on the board from Health Science Admissions.
** We stopped taking applications for the August term on May 20. Anyone who applies after, will be considered for the January term.
** Points are NOT awarded for MAC or HESI, only for pre-requisite GPA.
To calculate your pre-req GPA (grades from ENC1101, BSC2085, BSC2085L, BSC2086 and BSC2086L), you can use the following:
For 3 credit classes:
A = 12 points
B = 9 points
C = 6 points
For 1 credit classes (LABS):
A = 4 points
B = 3 points
C = 2 points
Add up the total points and divide by 11. This is your pre-req GPA. Your pre-req GPA DOES NOT show on your degree audit.
Based on your pre-req GPA, the points are awarded as follows:
1 point = 2.5
2 points = 2.6]
3 points = 2.7
4 points = 2.8
5 points = 2.9
6 points = 3.0
7 points = 3.1
8 points = 3.2
9 points = 3.3
10 points = 3.4
11 points = 3.5
12 points = 3.6
13 points = 3.7
14 points = 3.8
15 points = 3.9
16 points = 4.0
** When you submitted your limited access application, you applied to the program NOT a particular campus, even if you wrote the campus on your application or checked North/Central where it says EMS on the application.
** It is the students responsibility to see an academic advisor prior to applying to the RN program to ensure all pre-requisite are satisfied on your degree audit, especially if you are a transfer student from a university.
** Decisions are expected to be sent out by June 15.
** Every semester is different. Please do not email me asking if your GPA is below a certain number will you get in or not get in for the upcoming term. It will all depend on the strength of the applicant pool.
Good luck!
