Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!
Hi All!!
I'm an international student in the process of applying for the May semester at Broward. My application is in review by a supervisor in office, and then hopefully I will be officially accepted! I'm from England so this whole thing will be very new for me!
Good luck to everyone applying! :)
Hello Dipp14- and may I say from one Brit to another- welcome!! :) So glad to have you. Just message me if you have any UK/US queries and I'll try my best to help. Look forward to seeing you in orientation :) Best of luck during the process.

Okay, (better sit down for this one) don't shoot the messenger, but I spoke to Alonso (or Alfonso) in the Central Campus Health Sciences Admissions today. He advised that they are currently looking at PT and should come around to RN in March. I asked him specifically if it would be after spring break or before and he leaned toward after spring break (don't hate me!). He does the advising with Nicole, but she wasn't in today. He is really knowledgeable and nice. I'm hoping he was just playing it safe with the whole March thing, so I still believe that we should hear something towards the end of the month.
To cheer you up I will also add this little bit- he said he recently heard from one of the previous graduates who got hired by Memorial (new grad) at $61K!! He didn't know the details of the dept. or shift- but boy was I happy for that person, but it also gave me hope that people do hire new grads. He said that BC was the best for training and the graduates usually don't have a problem getting hired after NCLEX because of the rigid training they provide. :)
Also, for those of you worried over your points/GPA/HESI- he said as long as you have the minimum requirement you really shouldn't have a problem. He knows (and I have also read) of many individuals with lower end scores who have gotten into the program.
We will make it- think positive :) Like dolfanjenny said- glass half full.
March???!!! Nooo! I'm gonna pretend she didn't say that. In fact I'm not going to listen to anyone else when they say "they were told by" I don't care! It will happen when it happens. If everyone wants to keep busy to help pass the time read the chapters in the book and do the HSC certificates. That way u can feel like you're getting things done and as a bonus your not running around in March/April trying to do 101 things!
dolfanjenny- Sorry you're having trouble signing in. I don't check from my phone, but my emails seem to be checking in okay from my laptop. I hope you can get it sorted soon. Good luck :)
Is anyone else having trouble signing into their email??? I've tried on my phone and on the computer but still nothing! I'm so frustrated. I am even copying and pasting user name and it keeps telling me it doesn't recognize the account???

Thanks everyone, really lovely to have some moral support and encouragement! :) I'm still in England, hoping to receive the paperwork in the near future so that I can start the visa process! I'm dreading it to be honest, I just hope its not too time consuming. @LondonFog, are you already in Florida or are you applying for your first year at college? Didn't expect to meet a fellow Brit lol! Where are you from?

Besides they usually do 2 rounds of application reviews maybe the advisor meant that they'll be done reviewing for may term in March, which would make that the 2nd round of applicants....glass half full everyone! Lol
