Broward College Nursing May 2015

Published

Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!

The topics highlighted in orange is for exam 1, exam 2 is in pink, and the final exam is in blue but it's also cumulative so pink and orange as well...

Hopefully the picture is clear :/

Thx so much Nelly! I know what u mean about the gpa thing. I think what matters most is how dedicated u are to the program and to studying. I know it's gonna be tough but this is something that I really want to do. I can't wait! Nelly any tips on the math?? That is my weakness and I'm so scared that I'm going to have trouble. I've been reading horrible stories. Do the teachers help u out to understand??

Hey Nelly question: how's a normal week look like for u for your school schedule?

Also on the pic u posted (thx for that by the way) the chapters that are not highlighted are those just not going to be covered during the first semester?? I'm assuming they included it on there cause your going to have to review it eventually. Thx for any help! :)

yes i have as well been waiting since october! í ½í¸ i never thought feb/march would come fast enough. but staying positive and busy is the key!

is someone able to let me know which is the exact fundamentals book we should be getting reading ahead of time?

Hello everyone.

Nelly- You have helped us all so much! THANK YOU SO MUCH! Having this insight into the program is so helpful and eases our anxiety I'm sure. I'm sure you will make an amazing nurse. Best of luck! :) Thank you again (and keep them coming please) :)

Loving your questions...you're reading my mind! :)

Have you bought all the books for the program or just the Perry/Potter? Thanks :)

Haha it's actually been me and a few others on here suffering that long. As far as orientation I think you can still attend if u want to hear about all the info ahead of time then u defer. Don't answer no to the email! Then I think they will assume you don't want to attend program. What u want to do is accept your spot then you defer. That way your seat is guaranteed for next semester if not you would have to reapply all over again. I didn't know you were deferring your seat ??

Okay thanks for the info! And Yep! Only cause I haven't taken Micro, and May is the fast-paced term so I think it's in my best interest to take my seat but defer and have my graduation reqs done and be able to take that break we have in the program to relax :) that way I can get a start on reading for Aug :)

You're welcome everyone!! The math wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I was actually extremely nervous about it because I'm not so good with conversions. Our professor taught us exactly how she wants the problems worked out and we were allowed use calculators to check our answers, you still have to show your work. We were also given conversion sheets to use on the test but I suggest you memorize it because you won't have it throughout the whole program, there's a math test before every class as you move along in the program.. You will definitely be prepared for the math tests though so don't worry!!

I have lecture on Mondays and Fridays, pharmacology on Mondays, my clinical day is Wednesday.. I passed the math exam so I no longer have math on Thursday.. So since I'm free on Tuesdays and Thursdays I'm usually in the library studying! The chapters that are not highlighted will be covered in Process 2... Process 2 is the second half of the first semester (I hope this isn't confusing)

Ok here we go:

Londonfog yes I also bought the study guide and a critical thinking book I would have to look at it when I get home to tell u exact name.

Acitrone2011 good idea to get micro out of the way u don't want to deal with it later!

Nelly thx for all the info. I understand your schedule completely hope I get that lucky! ;)
