Broward College Nursing May 2015

Published

Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!

Specializes in Cardiac/Telemetry/Covid19.

Thanks dolfanjenny, it certainly sounds like it!:) Looking forward to finding out, but a big part of me is very nervous anxious-kind of scared. My application still says review also. Best of Luck everyone.

Thx for the info Hammock and Giggles! Hopefully we'll all know sooner rather then later. And Londonfrog I believe hammock is already in the program right?

Ahhh it's only the 5th! Can we fast forward time please, my nervous stomach can't take it haha

Question my helpful ladies... do we normally see a change in the "limited access" page on mybc BEFORE we get the actual letter ? Thanks :)

Yes you'll see your status change to "pre admission" then you'll get the email with orientation time and date which you need to respond to

:roflmao: I know what u mean I can't wait! I've been waiting since October so all things considered I guess we can say time has flown by....

Okay great thanks! I won't attend orientation if I'm deferring right? I let them know through email?

Dolfan I don't know how you did it ! Haha Id have all grays by now. :)

Haha it's actually been me and a few others on here suffering that long. As far as orientation I think you can still attend if u want to hear about all the info ahead of time then u defer. Don't answer no to the email! Then I think they will assume you don't want to attend program. What u want to do is accept your spot then you defer. That way your seat is guaranteed for next semester if not you would have to reapply all over again. I didn't know you were deferring your seat ??

@dolfanjenny @Acitrone2011 thanks for the kind words over on the January 2015 forum!!

The program is going well so far, it's really TOUGH. Stay ahead of the reading I can't stress that enough!! Currently headed to the library to study for Process 1 exam 2 which is on Monday (15 chapters). We were lucky enough to talk the pharmacology professor into postponing our 1st exam because it was going to be on Monday as well.. Get the Fundamentals book as soon as possible (I noticed someone on here found the online version I posted in the August 2014 forum) try to get a copy from them.. I'll post the chapters we had on the first exam for you guys!! And looking at your GPAs I think ALL of you will be accepted.. My gpa was a 2.9 (yes I was definitely slacking when it came to pre reqs) and I was only awarded 5 points and I got accepted so I know you guys will too! Good luck and I'll be back to post the chapters for you!

Oh and I'm at North campus I don't know the chapters for the other campuses!

@dolfanjenny @Acitrone2011 thanks for the kind words over on the January 2015 forum!!

I'm sure you'll do great Nelly! I found the link and would definitely like to start reading and obtaining all that I can if and before I get in! Thanks for the encouragement!!!! I know it'll be tough, but if it was easy everyone would do it, right!? :) were going to be great nurses.. I just know it!

I'm choosing NORTH if I can.. So any info would be great.. Like the deferring process once we get a letter do we just write them back saying we want to or...? :) thanks!!!!

Hey Nelly! U found us! Thanks for all the tips. I actually already bought the fundamentals book (from Amazon) just recieved it a couple days ago and started reading last night. I also have a 2.9 gpa (yeah i slacked too) so I was a little worried but your story is encouraging :) thx so much!

I deferred from the August term, I attended all the orientations so I would know what to expect then I deferred. Once you receive the email about the first orientation accept it so your seat is saved. When you decide to defer just email Nicole letting her know you are deferring for whichever term you want to start in. You don't have to attend the orientations because you'll still have your own to attend when you start.

@dolfanjenny you're welcome! I was also very nervous while waiting but I was accepted :) I sure learned not to slack off in this program lol.. To me gpa really doesn't matter, there are people with high GPAs failing out.. Just be dedicated to studying and doing LOTS of practice questions they'll help with the exams!
