Broward College Nursing May 2015

Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!

I am trying to figure out how do I get my GED transcripts sent to Broward College, so that I could start the Nursing program in Fall Term 2015...I didn't attend a Technical program for GED test prep I studied from home. Broward College Registrar office are telling me to go to the place where I took my GED and have it mailed or fax to them but the place where I took my GED said they wouldn't have my GED transcripts unless I was a student at the school, they are giving me the run around and it's really annoying... I need help from someone that took the GED Test who went to Broward College and know the process on what to do because I am completely lost here. Please can someone help me!!!!

Hi mikiah96 sounds like you got quite a mess on your hands. Have u gone directly to the place u did your GED or did u just speak to someone on the phone?? Sometimes the people u get on the phone aren't exactly helpful. Sometimes u get more accomplished by going there and speaking to someone directly. All they need to do is forward any records they have on you. Your solution will start and end directly with the facility u did your GED at no one at broward will be able to help. Just speak to whoever u need to speak to over there I'm sure someone will be able to help. Have u ever attended any other colleges or tech school??

Has anyone who's attending broward south campus gotten their orientation packet yet?? I was so crazy at work today I didn't even get a chance to call to see if the bookstore got them in yet......speaking of orientation I believe all u north and central people had yours today! So how did it go??? Anything interesting?? :sarcastic:

I will call the bookstore tomorrow to see if they already have it. For the people who had their orientation... please let us know how it was so we have an idea of what to expect:)

I also got my GED but I still had the papers they gave me when I completed it, the results page and actual diploma so I just gave broward college those. I'm a bit OCD and keep all important files locked away in organized folders, but I know not everyone is like that lol. Hmm.. Try this website Transcript & Diploma Requests

It seems to have information regarding requesting transcripts. Sounds like you need to bypass the school and go straight to the source (Florida Dept of Education)

As far as the critical thinking books.. That's entirely personal. My advice would be to go to the bookstore and flip through the books. If it all seems like common sense to you and you feel like it would be a waste of time reading it, don't get it. If it sounds a little alien and you feel you might benefit from it, purchase it.

The books I would really recommend would be the success books and study guides that go along with each textbook. For example, for the fundamentals book purchase "Fundamentals Succes" and Fundamentals Study Guide, etc.

It gives you a confirmation receipt at the end. U just need to print that. It also sends it to your email

I wasn't. But I drove to the campus and they registered me. I supposed you can just call them.
