Broward College Nursing May 2015

Published

Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!

So...just went to south campus bookstore to buy my orientation packet....I thought it was going to cost $6 but instead it was almost $20!...did anyone else pay that much?? I would rather them just email it to us to print out would've been cheaper...

OH MY!!!!!!, What a rip off.

Has anyone purchase the Course packages for North ?

There's course packages too????!!!! What's that??? I haven't heard of that?? What's in it??

Hi everyone I just signed on to the LPN to RN program to start next month!! Is anyone else taking the math and pharmacology? I'm new to the board. Excited and terrified at the same time !

Yeah at dolfanjenny we received a list of necessities for the program one of which were the course packets/package. I have to revisit the document to verify. Ugh... lol

Hi ilikebunnybutts I am taking both. What campus are you attending ?

@ dolfanjenny This is the list I was referring to.

Oh ok the book list....the dean just emailed us that yesterday. I thought u meant something else! Ughhh

Hi! I'm at north campus. I've been looking at books and the prices are ridiculous! Does anybody know if BC permits ebooks (like Kindle or on the kno apps) so much cheaper

what is the nursing student manual??

ilikebunnybutts LOL. I have been buying my books off amazon, and most importantly half.com. They're way cheaper, I have even bought used book that look like new. At this point, as long as the description says new or like new I will get it. I didn't want to get beat up books because I want them to last, and some were at the same price range as new books or like new books. I haven't heard anyone really buying books on kindle, although I did see how much cheaper they are on there. I decided to get physical books only because I don't want to worry about a kindle not working or the battery being dead, and theres just something about having the physical book were you can put sticky notes for reference pages and look back and forth. I dislike when professors make me buy online books, I don't like the format of reading online, much less having my already messed up eyes be glued to the laptop screen more than they need to be. I would ask the nursing department if you could do that if that is what you feel most comfortable with, especially since some have a CD, and I don't know how that would work with an online book. Good luck on your decision, whatever you do do whats best for you!

I asked the health Science admission rep and she just send me an email regarding the electronic book, not allowed! So I'll be trolling those sites you suggested.also, this blog thread is awsome! So much support and info. I really appreciate all the insight
