Hey there! This is a tread for anyone trying to get into the May nursing program in Broward College. Have you guys completed everything we need?
I still have to take my HESI and I am half way done with the Health Core class. I am so nervous. I am still not completely sure on how BC does the admission criteria, but I have high hopes.
Leave anything below. Lets help each other out :)
IYes, they're the continuing education courses we need for the program. After completing them you'll receive certificates. Make copies of the certificate because you'll be turning them in as well.HSC0591 (HIV/AIDS)
HSC0522 (TB/OSHA)
HSC0405 (CPR)
HSC0691 (Domestic Violence)
HSC0692 (Prevention of Medical Errors)
I thought that we have to do them after we got accepted nit before. Are you sure that we can do them beforehand?
We can take them before or after. I'm just taking them now because after we get accepted (yes we are all getting accepted:)) into the program there's gonna be so much we have to get done and I don't want to have too much stuff to take care of.
The certifcates are good for a certain amount of years just can't remember how many, so it really doesn't matter if you do them before or after getting accepted.
Oh ok that's great..I just got registered for them thanks for telling me.
No problem at all.. Oh and if you look through previous pages I saw that they mentioned a website (ceufast.com) that offers these courses for way cheaper than Broward. I was gonna use that site but I had a hard time navigating around it. Just letting you know if you'd like to save some bucks!
Was anyone else wondering who we *on this thread* all were at orientation? Haha as I talked to different people I kept thinking, hey! Maybe we've already been talking for the past couple of weeks! lol. Doing the time management sheet with Italia really made reality hit pretty hard. 75 hours a week? We are all insane for taking this on... lol. But it's going to be so worth it! Good luck everyone!!

Hey guys has anyone started reading ahead? At central campus we got the list of chapters that are going to be on our first exam and I read one of the chapters and it took me over 4 hours to read it and take notes. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to go through the chapters quicker lol?

Italia said to read with the modules in mind. So review the nursing modules first, get a feel for what they want us to focus on and skim the chapters for those headings/topics. Focus on those, and if you have the time read everything else. They did say 35 hours a week for studying to succeed...
