U.S.A. Florida

Hey there! This is a tread for anyone trying to get into the May nursing program in Broward College. Have you guys completed everything we need?

I still have to take my HESI and I am half way done with the Health Core class. I am so nervous. I am still not completely sure on how BC does the admission criteria, but I have high hopes.

Leave anything below. Lets help each other out :)

Cassie can you message me the scholarship info. I went to central they have nob idea what im talking about.

Please

On my Financial aid awards it appeared as "Skelly Scholarship, Gertrude E". It's a type of scholarship available for nursing student. I went in the financial aid office at the north campus and they gave me an application. I filled it out and return it right away

How long are the semesters at broward college? Are they 16 weeks or 8 weeks since were in the nursing program?

Sent from 'her' iPhone using allnurses ???

Thank you. What was your statement about? I want to have my stuff ready for when I go in. You had to write an essay on a topic?

No just a short statement. It's not a long application. They asked your basic information, student ID, your BC GPA. I told them them that What I received for the summer was not enough to cover tuition, books and supplies, and that I would appreciate any help from the nursing department.

Super, thanks. I am going to have my little statement ready!

It will go like this.... please please please I am poor poor poor. Thank you thank thank you

The end!

You guys are too funny! For those of you going to North.. don't waste your time trying to turn your paperwork in early if you don't have them in a binder. I went trying to be ahead of the game & the lady was actually pretty rude to me. I told her that not once did anyone ever mention having our documents in a binder with laminate inserts and all that. So now I have to go back.. which might be a good thing now that I've read about the scholarships. Makes me reconsider transferring to central.. among other things.

Is it the short hair lady with the island accent at the front? Ya she is rude to everyone!!! She's pretty much always wrong with everything she tells me and i always take pride in proving her wrong? Yea yea it might be gloating but she deserves it with her attitude. Don't let that one thing deter you because I am sure we will be facing a lot

worst in the program so just learn to brush stuff like that off. All the offices I've experienced someone rude and I think it's because they have to deal with so much and then sometimes take it out on us.

Workforce1 broward is another option for those who needs financial assistance if you qualify.

For central, you don't need the blue bag yet until process 2. For pharm you do not need the book. You just need to study his PowerPoint. Math for nursing, you don't need the book either. Just answer the math booklet and you will passed the math test.

IF I could know when you planned to return your documents, I could compared mine with yours. I'm kind of confused. Is it 3 sets of copies, 1 set of original? For the background check, do we open the envelope and make copies? Last question for the drug screen, I did not receive any kind of receipt, just the last two pages of the documents: employer copy, donor copy

I should be pretty straight forward. Make one set of copies for the school. You give them the little slip quest gave you back. I stapled it to a sheet of paper to keep if from getting lost. The fingerprinting place gave 2 receipts. The one in the envelope and one sheet. I gave the one in the envelope. I just made my copies from the one outside the envelope.

For the background check, you turn in the confirmation from the website.

Just make one set of copies of everything and put it in a file for yourself as a back up! The originals all go in a binder. I bought those clear pages and put each page in a clear page. YOu can take your originals and the school's Copies to turn in. South asked you to bring the originals so they could stamp them as rcvd. But the third set is just an emergency back up if you lose anything.
