Broward College Nursing May 2014

U.S.A. Florida

Hey there! This is a tread for anyone trying to get into the May nursing program in Broward College. Have you guys completed everything we need?

I still have to take my HESI and I am half way done with the Health Core class. I am so nervous. I am still not completely sure on how BC does the admission criteria, but I have high hopes.

Leave anything below. Lets help each other out :)

I should be pretty straight forward. Make one set of copies for the school. You give them the little slip quest gave you back. I stapled it to a sheet of paper to keep if from getting lost. The fingerprinting place gave 2 receipts. The one in the envelope and one sheet. I gave the one in the envelope. I just made my copies from the one outside the envelope.

For the background check, you turn in the confirmation from the website.

Just make one set of copies of everything and put it in a file for yourself as a back up! The originals all go in a binder. I bought those clear pages and put each page in a clear page. YOu can take your originals and the schools Copies to turn in. South asked you to bring the originals so they could stamp them as rcvd. But the third set is just an emergency back up if you lose anything.

Thank you for the the information. Now I understand it, but those people at Quest did not give me the little slip that everybody's talking about, they just gave me back the last two pages of the drug screen. I have to go back and ask them for it.

Hi Pinkypie143 are you currently attending central,If so how is it?

Yes, i am doing my rotation. Broward nursing is not an easy program, but it's doable. Read perry potter and practice with fundamental success book. Learn the rationales. Practice the skills during open lab.

I turned in all my paperwork but it didn't have to be in a binder I don't know if that's just for south and north. I do have a binder for my student portfolio where I have a copy of everything like they asked as well as my original certs in the plastic inserts. That is also where I put my orientation packet since it is in handout form.

For those of you who did the OSHA at BC online, how long did it take for them to call you to pick it up? Anyone of you guys did not receive the little slip for the drug screening, or is it just me? (Not Lucky!)

Thank you, I know it won't be easy but I hear so much horror stories about central however was also told it's the best of the three campuses.

Is this the fundamental success book?

Yep... That's it.

Yep... That's it.

Awesome thank you

Do you guys know which edition of the fundamentals of nursing book we need? Also I've heard for pharm and the math class you don't need the book, besides the fundamentals what other books are most important?

Also will we need a different book for nursing process 2? or is the fundamentals for both 1 and 2?

I had to go back because my dr. Didn't include mm for the ppd. Make sure they have the size of the test site listed.

Thank you I will be there tomorrow morning to check it with them

For central campus, we do not need to purchase pharmacology and math book- its optional. I purchased the math book just to practice my math skills. We need to pass a math exam for every class, so I figure the math book can help me brush those math skills.

I am not sure if they will change the edition for perry potter, last year we use 8th edition for both theory and clinical.
