Broward College Nursing May 2014

Published

Hey there! This is a tread for anyone trying to get into the May nursing program in Broward College. Have you guys completed everything we need?

I still have to take my HESI and I am half way done with the Health Core class. I am so nervous. I am still not completely sure on how BC does the admission criteria, but I have high hopes.

Leave anything below. Lets help each other out :)

Next week? Every week they keep saying next week >.

Oh okay! good to know!!!! I' m just gonna go ahead and buy the book and start to read as soon as possible. I really want to be as prepared as I can before the start. Forget waiting on them... =/

& I can't believe they said next week!!!! that's crazy! Maybe they just want to shut everyone up for a little bit so that ppl can stop calling. Idk but hopefully we'll find out sooner than later

I agree I'm just gonna order the book I just wish we didn't have to wait for their paperwork to do the physical and fingerprinting stuff

I haven't received any emails on it but I have been able to log in.

You gotta be kidding, next week????? Lady I talked to today said this week! Patience is not a virtue of mine!

Okay moving onto books, I looked at the book list for the first classes and the list is insane there are so many, but I also saw they have e-book bundles of them we can get and avoid back injury by trying to carry everything.

What are everyone's thoughts on physical books versus e-books and if you know of anyone in the program what do they think?

I bought all my hesi books on my tablet and it was great because I didn't have to carry books around but at the same time I missed having a physical copy in front of me. I don't know if I'm just used to the physical books because that's what we always used or if I was just more comfortable using the physical book

They're probably changing dates because people won't stop calling. If everyone just practiced patience maybe they would tell everyone by the end of this week.

They keep changing dates because they don't have enough applicants. Last semesters class (Januarys class) found out September 15th, 3 weeks after school started for the winter term and we are still waiting. The reason being is they are going to try and get every last applicant they can before they make decisions because if they don't have enough applicants it makes them as a school look bad. Broward college going back like 3 years ago used to have over 800 applicants apply to their program every semester and would only chose 150 applicants out of those 800. Back when my sister attending nursing school at Broward college they only were taking students with 3.5 gaps and higher and now that has drastically changed as well. I think that we all have almost a 100% percent change of getting in and I know we are all frustrated, because I know I am very frustrated but I have a feeling we all will be happy in the long run.
