Broward College Nursing May 2014

Published

Hey there! This is a tread for anyone trying to get into the May nursing program in Broward College. Have you guys completed everything we need?

I still have to take my HESI and I am half way done with the Health Core class. I am so nervous. I am still not completely sure on how BC does the admission criteria, but I have high hopes.

Leave anything below. Lets help each other out :)

I'm going for generic and shooting for either Central or South. Either is fine, but would prefer Central campus since I'm more familiar with it.

Good luck!

all these opinions on campuses worry me! :arghh:

I have heard/read that North is the best, Central is the worst, and South is somewhere in between. There are varying opinions but it seems to be that North always end up at the top. I live a little closer to Central, but I will probably enroll in North because of that

My sister did her generic rn at the central campus and she said it was ok. But then again I have friends who have been to all broward campuses and they hated them all.

Lol yea I'm so over all this campus stuff. I think I'm just going to go to Central campus since its closest to me and the most convenient. I was really worried about it since so many ppl say central is the worst, but I'm just gonna go in with the mind set that as long as I'm dedicated and I put in a lot of work I should be fine.

I think you should be ok too. Just go in thinking about your RN license and you will be fine. People always have their preference for their campus but at the end of the day the license and a job is the motive.

So after reviewing my status 100 times on every electronic device I own I am going to sleep. I know I said for everyone to stop checking their status' I didn't include myself in that everyone! ha. I too am over this campus stuff. I just know that the majority of people say no to South, so I am going to try my best to go to the other two campuses. Either way we have worked so hard to get here just earning my seat is a victory. I will take as many of those as I can.

Hey all, I just finished leaving central campus after speaking with nursing admissions and some nursing professors. Unfortunately, it looks like we're going to have to wait another week. The lady at nursing admissions said she hopes to see all applications by this Friday, and send out acceptance emails by mid week, next week. Arrrrggghhh... This wait is killing me. I also tried to asked if they will be using the Fundamentals of Nursing 8th edition but they could not give me a definite answer but the professor I spoke to said if they do change books it is usually for the August term. Good luck everyone!

If you're accepted, you can always get the 8th edition to start reading ahead and then sell it back if you absolutely need the 9th edition. I started the program in May 2012 and I think that's what I did.

next week?!?!?!?! I cant wait any longer, suspense is killing me! Patience is definitely not a virtue of mine. At least my status finally changed to application in review. I have a 3.32 gpa and even though I took most of my prerequisites over 15 yrs ago managed a 96 on the hesi. Dying to get started already

The points go as follows:

4.0-16 points

3.9-15 points

3.8-14 points

3.7 13 points

3.6-12 points, and so on.

So our admission is based on the amount of points we get from our GPA. N/A points granted from HESI and Math college level in my application. However it says requirement met.

Mines says the same thing as yours. My friend lives in broward county and hers has the broward county credit and doesn't include the college math spot.
