Broward College Nursing May 2014

U.S.A. Florida

Hey there! This is a tread for anyone trying to get into the May nursing program in Broward College. Have you guys completed everything we need?

I still have to take my HESI and I am half way done with the Health Core class. I am so nervous. I am still not completely sure on how BC does the admission criteria, but I have high hopes.

Leave anything below. Lets help each other out :)

I did the same. ant 1 with lab plus chm1032 with lab I got As in all 4... It worked out well. Then ant 2 with lab in the summer and micro w lab in the fall.

I also just finished the core at Sheridan. It was worked out great.

Do you have to be enrolled in a program at Sheridan to take the core? I'm just starting at BCC

No, you don't have to be enrolled in a program at Sheridan. It is online and very intensive.

sheridan has different start up dates so call them. I just finished one class.

Today I took the hesi and I'm dropping off my application. .. but I decided to wait till august.

I called them they have start dates every couple weeks and its $320. Can you tell me what the difference is between taking it at BCC and Sheridan?

everything is online at Sheridan. said should take 30 hours per week for 3 weeks. They meet 3 times. .. Once am and twice in the evening. bls is included along with all those little classes like domestic violence etc. You can finish it as fast as you want but you still have to go to those sessions and wait to take the final. bc you have to go in for all claws and then take all those little classes online plus take bls separate.

Does anybody know any scholarship programs for nursing? Can you please share any information. I heard Broward and Memorial hospitals do and they require you to work for them after graduation.

Hey guys I'm just checking my points and I was wondering whether is 16 the maximum points granted? I don't know if I am thinking right, but can someone have more than 16 points with HOSA or something else?

Still no update on my status. It says my transcripts are evaluated but they haven't given me any points and my status says denied because my transcripts are not evaluated. I've been trying to call but I just keep getting the run around.

Hey mbrown0203, from what I was told they should have all applications reviewed by Friday and hopefully send out emails by next week. So if your status doesn't change by Friday I would definitely give them a call or stop by nursing admissions.

yea, I believe 16 is the maximum number of points. I don't know if they still give extra points for other things like living in Broward county. On the site it says points possible: 1-16

Uff thank you for the information, I'm felling better now, but the last information I got from admission is that they are no longer adding points to Broward residents. I was thinking something like HOSA, but I finished my high school in a different country, so I didn't have this opportunity. Actually I did architecture and I'm changing career here. So... lets see what happens
