Broward College Nursing January 2016

Published

Hey everyone, I'm applying to the nursing program for January 2016 at Broward College. I guess this will be the official thread for the January 2016, Broward college nursing students; since no one has made one yet. Who else is applying for this term and what courses do you have remaining to finish pre reqs? I'm currently enrolled in A&P 2 lecture and lab and also a math class which are the last two courses I need to apply. I finish the classes in August yayyy :)

Good luck :)

So where is everyone buying books? Buying them new/used?

I already started reading my Fundamentals of Nursing textbook. I heard it was recommended because we will be tested on the first 12 chapters I believe by the 3rd week of school. Don't quote me on that, just what I heard! Rather be safe than sorry :)

oh man. the 3rd week? i guess i need to get to reading.

It's true. Been through it.

I want to share books with my sister. Do you all think that will be okay. We have just always done it when we had classes together

hi everyone,

congrats to every who was accepted!! I'm applying for the generic May 2016 program :)

Could those who were accepted possibly give me an idea of what gpa/hesi was accepted?

I have 3.6 in the prereqs, all of my general courses ecvept micro completed, and scored an 87% overall on the hesi (90's in math/reading/vocab, 84% in grammar, 78% in AP)

Do we need all the book listed on the orientation packet book list? The lady in the book store told me she doesn't think everything on the list is needed.

My advice is to hand in your application ASAP so you don't worry about the class filling up. Your scores will be fine! I had a 3.6 and a 97% overall on my HESI- I applied too late for the August term and had to wait for January. I had friends get in with a 3.0 (and one a bit lower) and much lower HESI score, you will be fine. Good luck!

i was told i dont need micro to apply, is that true?

yes, im turning in my health science application this week. that should be plenty of time
