Hey everyone, I'm applying to the nursing program for January 2016 at Broward College. I guess this will be the official thread for the January 2016, Broward college nursing students; since no one has made one yet. Who else is applying for this term and what courses do you have remaining to finish pre reqs? I'm currently enrolled in A&P 2 lecture and lab and also a math class which are the last two courses I need to apply. I finish the classes in August yayyy :)
Good luck :)
I thank you for asking the questions I was so confused about what the catch was. You seemed super nice I wish I could have formally introduced my self and my sister but we had to be somewhere else. My sister was sitting closer to the door and I was the other lol. Well I Will be able to properly introduced my self at orientation.
So i went to the Career Source Broward with my sister today , and I saw a few nursing students. My sister and i wore our red work shirts I'm not sure if any of you were there but if so let me know which one you were. We went and this one girl was asking like if there were any hidden catches and I was wondering the same exact thing. It is a great opportunity and you all should all check it out if you are in need of any assistance. Thanks again washird for the head up.
Is it a long process to actually get qualified for the funding?
Attention Miami dade residents. The program through the career source centers doesn't pay tuition for Broward college. I don't know about the Broward county offices but Miami dade county career source does NOT pay tuition. I went to the meeting which ended up being a 2 minute meeting since Broward college wasn't part of their list.
Hi I am new and just applied to the nursing program praying to get in for January. I took and passed my Hesi test on Oct 5 and they said I could still submit my application because half of the people they sent emails to didn't respond. They said they would be sending out emails to others that could fill the seats. They also told me that orientation loses a lot of people because they get scared due to what they tell them. So I'm praying I get in for January due to lack of people responding and leaving orientations.
Good morning everyone,
I'm currently finishing up Process 1. All the negative rumors that you hear are not accurate. Yes it is a fairly tough program, but if you are committed to studying then you will not have any issues at all! Anyways, I'm going to be withdrawing from the program due to the fact that the only reason I went into nursing was to become a Nurse Practitioner, but now they changed it from a masters to a doctorate program. So I will be going into med school instead. I have many books (that come with class materials) that I'm going to be selling at a very reasonable price. My email is [email protected]. I am willing to sell as a total package or individual. I spent over $1,100 on all new books and med supplies at the book store, but I'm cutting the prices well below bookstore price. The books and prices are as followed:
Cox's clinical applications of nursing diagnosis 5th edition (Will use in process 1) $40
Perry and Potter Fundamentals of Nursing 8th edition with study guide (Will use every day in process 1) $130
Perry and Potter clinical nursing skills and techniques 8th edition (Will use every day in process 1) $50
Dosage calculations 4th edition (Will use throughout entire program) $110
Davie's drug guide for nurse's 14th edition (Will use throughout entire program) $50
Nurse's pocket guide for nursing diagnosis and care plan (You will need this for clinicals to make care plans) $30
Medical supplies for clinicals (You will need for process 2 and can only buy it at the bookstore for $199) $160
Medical surgical nursing 9th edition with study guide and clinical companion (You will need for process 2) $160
Physical exam heath assessment (You will be using this throughout the entire program) $40
Fluids and electrolytes made easy 6th edition (You will need for process 2) $20
If you want the entire package I will sell it for $730 you will save well over $400 from buying it all at the book store. Good luck in the program and you all will do fine.

This information is incorrect. What campus did you turn your application in to?
You were able to turn in your application because there are no application periods and it goes to the next available term. If seats become available for a term that has already been filled, then we will discuss with the RN department filling any vacant seats. Any application received after mid September is being considered for May.
