Hey everyone!
This is a thread for anyone applying for the January 2012 class at Broward college for the generic nursing track. July 16th was the date to start applying and I believe it closes sometime in October. How many points does everyone have? I had to defer my seat so I will be starting in January for sure at north campus! if I can be of any help with questions pertaining to getting in or the HESI I will be glad to help! Good luck everyone!!
I am having trouble registering for the Intro to Nursing Math class, CAE0612 -- I receive error message that the registration conflicts with schedule. I wrote to my advisor and she stated the following:
"You will need to get permission from your classes instructors that the cae0612 class is conflicting with and ask them to send an email to ***** ******* ( coordinator of enrollment services) giving you permission to take the cae0612 class. "
I hope this information helps other pre-nursing students on this board trying to register for this course cae0612. Just because the fall classes show a duration of ending on 12/8 I can not register for this class, yet my final exams end on 12/1, ugh! Hope it gets resolved soon so that I can register for it asap!

i got accepted a nova as well , I just find out today people , i think i will refer my seat for winter 2013 and i will go with nova.
I was accepted into Nova as well, for both Nursing and Biology with Dual Enrollment into their PA program. However, Nova is REALLY expensive, and from speaking with many current students, I have not heard any good things about their program! Good luck to you! Let us know how it goes!!
Hello,Am a broward 2012 January nursing student where can i go to do my physical if i dont have insurance.
Doctors 365, as everyone else has mentioned, has great prices. They are actually less expensive then the "Health Department", they are nice, no appointment needed, and as long as you do not go on a Monday, you are in and out! :)
Well !! i will give a try to nova, and if it does work for me i will still have my seat a bcc for the winter 2013 , But i have friends in both school and i personal know what they are going trought right now , it is no that i heard from someone, so eveybody should do what best for his/her career at the end of the day. Good luck at bcc as well to you .
I went to the 365 doctors, omg!! i dont remember if i went there on monday , but just keep your mind to spent a leat 4 housr there .people are really niceeee special the girl at the front desk . Also the person who does the physical they are student from nova , she will do your physical examen and the physician' assistance will sign the paper for bcc, i spent likw $ 200 ihave to do the X-ray for the tubeculosis. The girl who will take your blood out for the titer ,also a nurse student from nova.
I need some words of encouragement my fellow future classmates:bluecry1:. I am accpted for the january 2012 nursing program also, since may i have been struggling trying to make ends meet. I used to make less that $300 a week on my pay check and now i am making $0. the agency i am working for has no work that fits with my current school schedule, anyways remember that guy egan that spoke to us at our pre-admission session i email him about my obstacles and he told me that i was a good pja candiate. however when i filled out the papers and hand them in at south campus, i recently got back a email saying i am not qualify for any pell grant. i review the change they claimed they were going to make on my fasfa, it shows that they are still using my income from last year. I thought they were going to change my income since i am not making nothing close to what i made last year at my other job. No job, No income, NO family help but the help from my bf, dont know how i am going to pay for my classes, everything is taking a toll on my. I was doing great in micro until all this stress i cant even focus, its so hard for me to study for my test on monday, I just dont know what to do:uhoh21:. please someone give me some good advice.
hello iwanthis,
i was in your shoes as well. i am currently working but come january i will only be working on the weekends with my current job. i no longer qualify for pell grants as welll; and no assistance from family. i applied with workforce one of broward county. it is called the wia program and if you qualify they will give you up to $6,000 for school. i applied and qualified. the cut off is about $40,070; i made the cut by $37. you also have to be a broward county resident. it is a process; you have to do an online orientation which is about 20 minutes and then an on-site orientation which is about 2 hours long. during the on site orientation they give you copies of a power point and a copy of a checklist of all the documentation they need. the on site orientation i attended was on a thursday at 12:45p. if you do not have a degree and only a high school diploma they require you to take the tabe test. that test takes about 2 hours. then you have to set up an appointment with a counselor to show them all your documentation. at the time of your initial appt you must bring all originals and copies. during this appt they will determine whether or not you will qualify.
i am supposed to call her monday to see where she is with my application. i told her tuition was due by november 24, 2011 to ensure that my classes will be paid and i have my seat. they give you vouchers so you can pay for tuition, books, uniforms etc. i am hoping that this will cover at least the first year of school and then hopefully ill qualify for pell grants next year.

where is the information on the website... i dont see where they talk about the program. do you actually have to go there to apply for it.
You have to go where is says "money for training". Here is the link: http://www.wf1broward.com/JobSeeker/MoneyForTraining1.htm
Online it gives you general information. You must do the online orientation first and print the certificate. When you first meet with the counselor to give him/her your documents, is when you will need to have it.
Here is the link for the video: http://www.wf1broward.com/OrientationVideo02.htm
Let me know if this helps.
