Hello krei, i did use the evolve study guide; that is basically all i used. I would focus more on the vocab than anything else. I had to take the vocab twice. Overall i scored a 93% on my hesi exam (not a 83%). The test is not bad at all. I was so nervous. As long as u study and go over the book you will be fine. Just so you know, some of the study questions for the most part are not the ones on the exam. When do u plan on taking the exam? when do u plan on applying? good luck! :)

You must do the online orientation first and print the certificate. When you first meet with the counselor to give him/her your documents, is when you will need to have it. hello iwanthis, i was in your shoes as well. i am currently working but come january i will only be working on the weekends with my current job. i no longer qualify for pell grants as welll; and no assistance from family. i applied with workforce one of broward county. it is called the wia program and if you qualify they will give you up to $6,000 for school. i applied and qualified. the cut off is about $40,070; i made the cut by $37. you also have to be a broward county resident. it is a process; you have to do an online orientation which is about 20 minutes and then an on-site orientation which is about 2 hours long. during the on site orientation they give you copies of a power point and a copy of a checklist of all the documentation they need. the on site orientation i attended was on a thursday at 12:45p. if you do not have a degree and only a high school diploma they require you to take the tabe test. that test takes about 2 hours. then you have to set up an appointment with a counselor to show them all your documentation. at the time of your initial appt you must bring all originals and copies. during this appt they will determine whether or not you will qualify. i am supposed to call her monday to see where she is with my application. i told her tuition was due by november 24, 2011 to ensure that my classes will be paid and i have my seat. they give you vouchers so you can pay for tuition, books, uniforms etc. i am hoping that this will cover at least the first year of school and then hopefully ill qualify for pell grants next year. this is the link: http://www.wf1broward.com/ the phone number is 954-967 -1010 i hope this helps and good luck! we can and will do this!!!!!!!

Yes you do need the polo shirts. I was at central campus bookstore yesterday and I just so happen to walk into a student already in the nursing program. She said that the polos are required for theory class. i believe theory is 2-3 times a week. As far as the scrubs go they are required for clinicals and lab. The scrub top is $20 and the bottom is also $20. The polos cost $27.50 each. My opinion, the uniforms are way to expensive. I think they forget that it is students that will be purchasing these uniforms.

A nurse at work gave me this website: CEUfast.com Its $30 for a yearly subscription and you can take as many tests how many times you need to. I am sure you can unsubscribe once you have taken all the courses that you need, if you want. I think its way cheaper and more convenient. I will ask during orientation to make sure Broward College accepts there certifications. Check it out :)

Hello, next Monday I will be submitting my nursing application to Broward College. I am a little worried that I wont get accepted. This is what I received for my course/degree requirements: BSC1085 A BSC1085L A ENC1101 A CHM1032 C BSC1086 B BSC1086L A Also, I received an 83.00 on my Hesi. I obviously didn't do well during my prerequisites and my Hesi, but I am still going to give a shot (its not easy working 50 hours + a week and attending school full time). I was wondering if anybody out there was accepted to the program with similar grades and test score? I know the program is very competitive.... so I guess we will see. Thanks in advance!
