Broward college Nursing Jan 2015

U.S.A. Florida

Hello, this is a thread for any current nursing students at Broward college or those who have recently been accepted. I'm a bit confused on Broward's admission criteria. What classes exactly do they use to calculate the gpa?

Hey everyone I have appled to the January 2015 program as well. It has been a pretty long wait for me, I applied on July 24, so i'm super excited to finally be close to hearing that we got accepted!

^^^^dont freak out. I got in with 16 points. I'm retracking a year later. Originally from January 2014. I just did my physical an TB shot today. I remember when I got accepted into the program. The same day I turned in my application I was accepted into the program. I was so... Happy!!! You guys will be fine. Keep up with the emails.

Hello How has the program been In your opinion? Are all the horror stories true? Also by having to retrack does that mean you had to go to LPN school and are you now an LPN? Just trying to make sure im fully understanding. Any info your willing to give will be greatly appreciated.

Yes I have taken those classes already. All of them except the newly added Florida law. 16 points is wonderful from past threads I've seen people get in with far less points. I for example only have 8 and my boyfriend who is also a hopeful January 2015 hopeful only has 5. Its crazy because our overall gpa's are so high. but i saw last term people with both those points got in. On the other hand we both did great on the hesi, i got a 91.6 and he got the same if not a few points higher, i will update with his exact score. How did you do on your hesi?

Omg it would be awesome to hear back this week!!!! :woot: Good luck, i hope we all make it!!!

Not at all, I was accepted with 5 points

Hello just wondering what was your hesi score? My boyfriend is also a Jan 2015 hopeful. He has 5 points and i think above 91% on hesi. He's also worried about his points.

The waiting is crucial!!

I am so impatient guys... I applied for January, they gave me 16 points. I hope I get in. When I start the program, I will work only two days a week. I will be going to North if I get accepted. Has anyone taken the hsc classes already?? OSHA, HEPATITIS. ...

Are we supposed to get those done before getting accepted into the program or after?

Hello and welcome!! I scored in the 80's on the HESI. I think you both will be fine :) can't wait!!!!

It's good to do them early because we have so much to turn in. You can wait for your acceptance letter and the campus you choose will give us a due date for everything!

I completed all the HSC courses at BC. Just a heads up, financial aid does NOT pay for the courses anymore; I was so disappointed when I chose my courses it seemed as if financial aid paid for them but a couple weeks after completing the classes I noticed I had funds dues back to the school and when I asked why they said those courses aren't covered by financial aid anymore. It's ridiculous how when you first pick the courses it seems as though financial aid is covering it and later on you have to pay back SMH I was p*ssed off.

I suggest you guys use the ceufast.com to complete these courses for your certificates, its wayyy cheaper but you'll have to take a extra course to cover the hours needed.

Sorry for the rant...:bluecry1:
