Broward College May 2016 RN program

Published

Just wanted to start a thread for Broward's May '16 RN program! I'm finishing up my application process this week.

My hesi was a 87% overall, with 90's in Math, Reading, and Vocabulary, an 84% in grammar, and a 80% in AP.

My prerequisite GPA is a 4.0

Ugh I'm reading these chapters but nothing is sticking.. does anyone have any tips? Because I'm lost .

I suggest Anki. It's essentially spaced repetition software, digital flash cards with a scheduling algorithm. It's free. A lot of medical school students use it (just look at the medical school subreddit) but no one's even heard of it in undergrad or nursing. I use it a lot. It has a little bit of a learning curve as making flash cards is somewhat of an art and you can make too many or little. It's worth it though. Also read: Spaced repetition - Gwern.net

Thank you so much, I'll try it out.

Does anybody have syllabus for North campus for process 1??

I called the cashiers office and they have the brochures with the payment plan available at the school. She said you have enroll in the program and that they use a third party to handle that. She could not give more info over the phone. I plan on dropping in Monday.

I'm reading chapter 29 right now which is vital signs. I think I'm more so confused because I don't know if I should be taking notes

i took some notes. i figured it wouldn't be brand new information by the time we start, and if the prof. says something different just do that.

Hey, how did you get the fundamentals of nursing book onto anki? I tried downloading the software onto my mac and didn't know how to get the content onto the software to make the flashcards! The software seems super helpful if I can figure it out, so I'd appreciate it if you could give me some tips! Thank you so much.

How do you know which chapters to read? I read through the syllabus that someone posted and I didn't see anything that mentioned vital signs... Just curious where you knew to read that chapter and if you have any other info you can give to help me get a head start in the book/ note taking - thanks!

I also am going by the syllabus posted earlier. I am putting a lot of focus on the page that breaks down what is on the exams.
