Just wanted to start a thread for Broward's May '16 RN program! I'm finishing up my application process this week.
My hesi was a 87% overall, with 90's in Math, Reading, and Vocabulary, an 84% in grammar, and a 80% in AP.
My prerequisite GPA is a 4.0
Hi guys! So how exactly are seats chosen? I'll be turning in my application for the Fall term in two weeks and I emailed one of the assistant deans and was told they do not use the point system anymore. I'm a little confused and would like to know what to expect once I turn in my application! Thanks!
Which associate dean did you email? The point system is still used but as a way for us to be able to rank students by GPA. The only category points are awarded for is your pre-requisite GPA. You will be awarded between 1 and 16 points (2.5 to 4.0).

I emailed Catherine Johnson. I am submitting my application for the generic program in two weeks so I was following this forum to get an idea on to what to expect as far as evaluations go. From my understanding then if I have a 4.0 within A&P 1, 2 + labs, ENC1101, and college level math, then I would earn 16 points? After ranking, is the HESI only looked over for passing purposes or a certain score, whether cumulative or individual? Thank you so much!

Yes, 4.0 is equivalent to 16 points. (1=2.5, 2=2.6, 3=2.7, 4=2.8, 5=2.9, etc. all the way to 16=4.0)
Math is NOT calculated into the GPA (Just need to have a C or better in the class), just ENC, A&PI and lab, and A&PII and lab.
HESI is looked at to see whether or not you passed with a 75% or higher but can also be used should a tie happen with GPAs. We look at each individual section, not the cumulative score.

Thank you so much you've clarified a ton! Much appreciated.

I think they go by GPA now. Not sure. I know the hesi is a tie breaker.
