Broward College January 2011

Published

New thread started for all those applying for / accepted to / attending Broward College January 2011. Chime in, let us know how you're doing!

Does anyone's status still say Application in Review? I don't know if I should call them yet...I would think they would have notified everyone on the same day so I don't know why I haven't heard anything yet.

I would call them. It doesn't hurt to check..

Has anyone done their CEU's at CEUfast.com? Will BC accept them if I do it there?

Congrats to all that have gotten in!!!! See everyone in january :)

I tried to call but can't get anyone on the phone. Does anyone have a contact there?

All offices were closed today because I went to Central to try and turn in somthing and the only office that was open was advising

In orientation they told us to call the campus we wanted to attend to make sure they accepted the CEUs from CEUfast.com and I called the nursing dept. at South Campus and they said yes they do accept them but I am having an issue because I cant find the 2 hour OSHA or the 2 hour Hep (they only have Hep C 2hr) and that worries me since I know BC is so picky. Hope this helps.

Yea, they did stress that ar orientation. I'll just take them at BC to be on the safe side.

Arent those the classes we had to do as a prereq for the nursing program??? the health career core class to get all the certifications?

Yes.

HIV/AIDS

Prevention of Medical Errors

Domestic Violence

TB/OSHA/Hepatitis

CPR

Specializes in ED.

Thats weird they told you guys that you have to check with the campus to see if they accept CEUfast.com. When I had my orientation, they just told us to use them if we didn't have them done and gave us all the info including the exact courses to take- because some of the courses were set up or named a little different.

This is what I took:

TB 2 hrs

Infection control and barrier precautions 4 hrs

Hep C 2 hrs

Aids/HIV 4 hrs

Medical Errors 2 hrs

Dom violence 2 hrs

They specifically told us at my orientation to take Infection Control and Barrrier Precautions in place of OSHA and Hep C for Hepatitis. I go to north and did not have a problem with these, and neither has anyone else I go to school with.

But if you did your health career core at sheridan tech, for example, then you don't need to do ceufast do you? I'm confused. Also I was looking at my degree audit and it says under admit stus: N then at the bottom it said " Health Science Programs Require A Separate Program Application. If the Above Field "pgm Admit Status" is Coded "n", Please See An Academic Advisor or Counselor." I got the email to go to orientation on the 28th at 1pm and it says pre admit in my status so then what does this mean? Does anyone have that on thier degree audit?

Thanks for the info! At our orientation they didnt want to give out any websites. They just wanted us to call the campus to make sure they accepted it. Where did you do your CPR course?
