New thread started for all those applying for / accepted to / attending Broward College January 2011. Chime in, let us know how you're doing!
Ok so I took the Hesi! Passed all sections, but anatomy and physiology, which I retook today and got 88%! So glad that part is over. Finishing up my class at Sheridan and will be ready to turn everything in! Hope everyone is hanging in there! It's getting closer! :-) Good luck! Anyone know anything about the program that is online?
I am a BC Central Campus grad, just graduated in August 2010, Good luck to all of you!! Study Study.. I worked part time throughout the entire program (didnt have a choice) and I have a preschooler at home, So if I could do it you can, Make sure to pick up the Test success book and the Fundamentals success book by Davis, and if you have extra money get yourself the Saunders RN book (they will tell you not to buy NCLEX books yet) but you will be surprised on how much good information is there to help you on your way. Study the test strategies from Kaplan you can find them in their review books. Wish someone had told me this before I started nursing school. Congrats on starting!!

I have a friend in the online program. It is extremely difficult. At least at the beginning, the teachers offered NO direction. If you asked a question to clarify something, you would be told to go read the book. Plus, my friend was getting annoyed with the amount of time she had to spend on campus and at one point was considering just transferring to north campus to the face to face program because she was travelling to campus too often and north is actually closer. Anyway, the class size is very small to begin with (around 30ish people) and after the first course, they had already dropped to less than half.
I just started this Aug Nur process 1 at central and they do not let u record lectures at all, the only exception is if they add a lecture day to catch up and someone is going to miss it then u are aloud to record for that person.
Hey Wolanskia, how is the program so far? I know it's been 2 weeks but do you like Central? =)
Ahhhhhhh I know we won't find out still if we are accepted for a while, but I am checking my status every day. I even catch myself doing this on an occassional weekend. Lol.
So is there the possibility of finding out soon after the 15th...or is it no earlier than 30 days after the deadline?
I just can't wait to buy my shoes and my scrubs and all of that good stuff. I really want some other brand of scrubs, though, not the ones they sell in the bookstore....I wonder if they are the same color if we can buy another brand like Grey's Anatomy....I think I heard that somewhere. But even so, how will I know how far off of that particular shade of blue we would be allowed?
Lol. I guess I'm losing my sanity here waiting, guys! Anyone else taking Nutrition this semester at Central on Wednesday nights?
Hi CodaBrown21 yes it looks like we're going to get our email when everyone else does which seems to be no later than Oct 15th. I was also upset about not get in for August...I had already resigned at my job and everything(I work fulltime). Thank goodness when I found out I was deffered my job was ok with my staying till then end of the year but I convinced myself that it would have been to rush rush and I would have gotten stressed out. We got 4 more months to go!

You can record at north campus, but it will vary with each professor. For process 1 and 2, she will let you record. Actually, for GIGU, Peds and OB you can, too. For Psych, she will NOT let you, and beyond that, I am not sure. I haven't had those classes yet.
