Broward College hopeful for May 2013 Nursing Program

I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!

I already took the HSC classes, except for CPR. Mines scheduled for March 24 at Tigertail Lake campus. It's also a recreational center so I thought that was a bonus. If you want check American Red Cross, they have a slight cheaper price I think. Otherwise maybe I'll see you at Tigertail! :)

I'm registered for tiger tail on march 24 too

Ya know I read something today on Broward's page staring that the HSC's must be completed after acceptance into the program. Don't know if they changed that or not.

Well I decided to just take all the courses through BC, figured that way there's no problems.

Does this thread stay here for us to use in the future even though we're not hopefuls anymore?

E_Sarita- I do believe BC only uses AHA. I don't think they accept Red Cross for the Health Science Students. While it may seem like they may save a few bucks, it will probably cost more if they have to redo it. Also, I know that a recertification class may be 4 hours, but the HSC0405 is an 8 hour class.

Just throwing out some info.

I believe so, because we can go back and read prior semesters threads. I was even reading one from 2009!

I just signed up for all my HSC's through BC online...anyone else go that route? If so, how was it?

Ps...I'm sooooo excited! We need to have a BBQ/cookout..before the craziness starts...:)

I'm doing all my HSC's through BC. I paid yesterday about an hour later they were on D2L. I started with OSHA yesterday. When are you taking CPR? I second a BBQ or maybe even doggie play date since most of us love our pups.

So I ended up finishing up all those HSC's...it wasn't bad at all. I haven't figured out CPR yet...how about you?

Wow you must've been working hard. I finished OSHA had too many other things to do. I'm going to do the others today. Nope I haven't figured out CPR. I'm thinking we just how up to Tigertail on March 24, and our name will be on a list.

Drbeck, if you complete the four online HSC's that have dates apr. 22-26 they are available all semester. The only one you can't do online is CPR and the next available date is March 24.
