Broward College hopeful for May 2013 Nursing Program

I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!

So I ended up finishing up all those HSC's...it wasn't bad at all. I haven't figured out CPR yet...how about you?

We will get our registration information at the pre-admissions meeting.. let's all be patient and excited that we are one step closer to our dream of becoming an RN!

People be careful. BC does NOT accept background n fingerprints except from their approved places. I work for Broward County n still have to redo mine.

I think the best thing for us to do is not jump the gun and try to get things done before the meeting as far as our background checks go.

Just finished all my HSC's now, all we have left is CPR. When do you plan on getting the book and valve?

Those that completed all the HSC already. Was there not that much material to go over? I see that each course has powerpoints and exam to complete it. Was the exam all basic common knowledge or did you have to go over and study the slides to pass the class?

I read over everything so I have knowledge of it all, however you may be able to pass based off of common knowledge. I would rather know about each topic though so I took the time to tea it all.

Seems like they were agreeing with you. You posted to be careful about the background check, they posted it would be better to not get ahead of ourselves, and to just wait for the meeting.

I'm doing all my HSC's through BC. I paid yesterday about an hour later they were on D2L. I started with OSHA yesterday. When are you taking CPR? I second a BBQ or maybe even doggie play date since most of us love our pups.

My dummies and I can be spotted at Snyder Park, with the big boy swimming frantically around the lake and me watching worriedly from the Doggie Beach. ;) If you haven't been I really recommend it, especially since the beach is enclosed and they can run free and splash.

Only caveat is if you are an uptight parent, then the mixed sizes and laid-back types who frequent that side might not be your cup of tea. :)
