I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!
Paramount Training on Stirling Rd offers in person classes including CEUs, CPR/BLS and others (First Aid, Phlebotomy, EKG). $29.95 for CEUs $45 for CPR/BLS healthcare provider 4 hours. They also provide electronic finger printing for background checks. We could take our first class together.
There is a place on Sample Rd in Coral Springs that advertises walk-in physicals and immunizations. I think Broward Heath department also offers everything we need for immunization/physical.
hi, abyJRthanks for this info.
I just looked at their website. do they offer all the CEUs certificates? all four of them, because I can't seem to find which classes they offer.
But I saw their CPR class is only 4 Hrs which is great!
nevermind..I just saw it. LOL
I decided to call. Joe answered the phone and told me that the CEUs are online and the classes are available for a year. They automatically link CEUs to your license. He said the best thing to do is to sign up for that on the day of CPR training. I noticed that First Aid 2-year cert is available the same day for $25. Its nor required, but I think its good to have for getting jobs. He doesn't know if BC accepts their electronic finger prints.

Thank you so much.
I just signed up for their CPR training. YAY!
I am so glad I found this site, and the site you gave me to help me sign up for that class.
because the one in BC offers for cpr classes are all conflict to my schedule.
Thanks again, future classmate :)
Hope everyone had a nice weekend celebrating your acceptance!! :) Just wanted to say that I just got an email about more details on the pre-admission meeting, so if you replied to the first email on Friday and don't get another email back today, you should confirm that they got your first email and that it didn't get lost in cyber space!

Don't worry. The longest class is CPR which is 8 hrs. The other classes are a couple hrs each. Hope this helps :)
