:yeah::heartbeat:nurse:

hahaha it's okay. i'm just glad for it. ugh. one day late, and i would have been talking about suing my doctor's office. that would have been no fun. :/

anyone know what time we can drop off our documents until? guesing they're closed for the day at this point...

also, what room in building 8? that's kind of a big building...

also, what room in building 8? that's kind of a big building...

When you go into bldg 8, right as you walk in, you're going to see a sign with a red arrow pointing to the right that'll say nursing documents turn in or something like that. So you'll follow the arrow and walk down that hallway and at the end of that hallway you'll see 3 cubicles, 2 on the left and one big one on the right, those ladies are the ones you're going to turn your stuff into. I gave my stuff to the lady in the big cubicle to the right and the lady in the first cubicle to the left turned out to be the notary so they have you doing like 4 different things at a time because the lady that I turned my stuff into went through everything right then and there. She also had me sign something and she gave me something else, like a receipt. She'll also tell you that a nurse is going to go through your health docs and contact you if there's any issues. Oh, and she also has a booklist with all the books we need for the first semester highlighted, that way we know what can wait and what can't. Copies of the booklist will be on the wall so you can copy what she has underlined unless you remember to bring your own. Hope this helps a bit : )

So, I have a question of my own...is anyone else having financial aid issues? Like does your schedule still say you owe like 1500 dollars and financial aid hasn't kicked in? I've gone to the fin aid office like 3 times and they still can't get it right. Frustrated is an understatement...:uhoh3:

The older gentleman that works the Central campus bookstore showed me what's in the lab kit. It's just a TON of gauze, bandages, etc. Basically, it looks like an assortment of all the disposable stuff we'll need to treat patients. It's $120 and it might be worth it just to pay for it all put together instead of hunting down every item in it and putting it together piece by innumberable piece.

The nursing Program at Central FORCES you to buy this bookbag, your suppost to have it the first week of lab. They will check your receipt. They put alot of things in this bookbag that ur going to get in the lab itself from them, so you will find you have wasted ur money buying the bookbag, but have to because THEY want you to. You only use the IV tubing, because for return demo in Process 2 you need to bring it with you, and the foley kit. THATS IT!! $120 dollars later. I still have mine, and its FULL of stuff I didnt use. Go figure.

My fundamentals book finally came today- yayyyyyyy! :) Now when to find the time to read it..hmm...

Still trying to get anyone to send a copy of Prof K's Nursing Process I syllabus, notes, powerpoints, anything we'll need; especially for the first exam. Tips too.

I posted the only thing I had from Professor K in my email. I dont have anything else from her class, there is sooooo much paperwork in the program I was going to be a hoarder if I kept it all.

The only tip I can give u is Read those chapters over and over and over. I would read each chapter 2 or 3 times. im not kidding. Dont try to memorize everything, these courses are not like that. Just seek to understand the disease processes, and Patient care. The questions are NCLEX style so get an NCLEX book that has content (saunders, its blue is a good one) they will tell u not to get one yet, but trust me, I wish I had it. And you NEEEDDDDDDDD to do the TEST SUCCESS and Davis" Fundamental Success these will help alot. Also try to read about Strategies on how to answer some of the Nclex style questions, Kaplan has some good test taking strategies on how to read the question and know what they are asking. Example: Maslows Hierarchy of needs, Patient safety, ABC's, etc..

We have until 4 pm today to turn in our documents. Anyone else wait till the last day like my husband and I? (Not that we WANTED to, but we we FORCED to because of our terrible doctor's office.)

Yay! Turned everything in! And turned in and paid for my son's registration at daycare.

hi mnunez378, i didn't see the list with the books we'll need for the first semester. can you please post the ones that were highlighted?
