Does anyone know how they calculate the points when you apply?? I got A's on all the pre-req except a B in english.

You are able to get the following:

1 point for being a broward county resident

5 points for having Hosa

And up to 16 points based on Gpa (16 points for 4.0 and keep going down)

You can use the below website to calculate your gpa.

do they go by your overall GPA or by the pre req courses like Enc,chem,ap1 + Lab and Ap2 + lab???

So just received email from Prof.K. Says we need chapter 1-6 read by this Friday..... Ummmmm that's a little crazy?! Couldn't have giving a little more heads up?!

Everyone busy reading our six chapters for tomorrow? :] What did everyone think of orientation? I really liked K:) I had thought D had mentioned a scholarship rep coming to talk to us that day (and several more times) though? I had been wondering if the GPA for scholarships is based off of nursing (program) GPA or every course taken. I must also admit I'm shocked to hear we cannot use calculators on the math- why were we able to on the HESI, then? And in the real world, when would we not have access to a simple calculator? :/ Also unfair, in my opinion, is the ban on all things technology in the room- including laptops and smartpens. I myself purchased a smartpen for the course and intend to use it. Even if I can't record, and I understand, that's totally up to them and their choice, my smartpen allows me to take notes and then when I come home upload them to my computer and convert them into a Word doc. It's really not their prerogative to say I can't use a pen that does that. That's going a bit too far. If the program says they have put this policy in place because of students 'goofing off', then perhaps they should be taking a stricter stance on in classroom policy with those students and throw them out, instead of punishing the students who benefit from technology. How long will a policy like this last- it is 2011, and we live by technology. I thought of coming into class tomorrow with a blackboard and some chalk to show just how outdated their policy is. Of course, I don't think that would sit well with the teachers, and won't actually be doing that.

Maybe I'm just a bit slow today, but I have been trying to change the format of the powerpoints that prof. K has on her blackboard and I can't seem to do it. She has them in PDF format, which means I would have to print out 100+ pages with one slide per page. There is no way I am doing that. If anyone can alter the format, please tell me how! Thanks!

My husband reformats the ppts into Word, if you send me a private message with your e-mail address, I'll have him send you them:)
