Broward College August 2011

U.S.A. Florida

Hi guys, is anyone else working towards starting the nursing program at BC in August 2011? I am working on my last pre-reqs this semester (spring 11) and then apply and hopefully get accepted for the fall semester. I just took and passed the hesi exam last night and that is one big load off my back. I also started my hep shots since it takes 3 rounds of shots and a total of 6 months to be fully immunized. I want to have all of my ducks in order to start the program. I am undecided whether to go to south or central campus. Any advice?

Yes, I know modules are small packets you have to buy for each class. So we need them for NUR1020 and NUR1210. It is around $20 or less and they are campus specific. I went about a week ago and they still did not have them at south campus :(

LOL....crazy....I wouldnt be surprised if they charged admission into the classroom the first day. Wow.:uhoh3:

Hello All North Campus Students------Did you all get an email today stating that our Math Class (MTB1370) will now start on August 18th????

Modules are something you need to purchase??????

If you're paying out of pocket like me. I would suggest that you share the cost and make copies

I got the e-mail. I will see you indeed on 8/18/2011 at 8:00am Building 41 room 002240. :sstrs:

Get used to Broward's messing up your financial aid. I had a person tell me and reassure me 5x that I didn't have to see an advisor and her supervisor told me I did and she wouldn't discipline her because "she's a good employee and I should have expected to see someone." Broward has bad financial aid people. Avoid them if you can.

I think some of the people at the campuses either don't know what they're doing or just don't care. You should go to the BC headquarter in Las Olas and do everything there. No appoinment needed, no wait time. 111 Las Olas Blvd.

hey Alana, do you already have a degree? if you don't mind, how much was your previous loan?

I have an associates already, and I was working on my BS at another school. I borrowed $10k

I have spent waaay too much time in that office... I did get a last update from FAFSA and the school showing the new amount I rate for PELL, but of course it hasn't been applied. They also told me loans only take a 3-4 days to show up after all the paperwork etc... It's been 2 weeks, and they don't know why it hasn't showed up. If I don't at least have the loans, come Aug 10, I'm up a creek.

Needless to say, come this Monday, you will find me in the FinAid office until this is 100% resolved. What's even more frustrating is that my bf also applied for aid a week after I did, and all his stuff has already posted.... :uhoh3: AND the GI Bill paid it's small piece 3 days ago, and they still don't show those payments!!! Ugh

I really don't know why this has to be so difficult, I'm starting on the 18th no matter how many obstacles they throw at me!!!

Congrats to everyone that got accepted for Aug 2011!!! :yeah:I'm currently in my 3rd semester at North Campus (starting Psych in Aug.) If anyone has any questions/concerns or needs any tips/advise.. especially pertaining to North Campus just let me know and I'd be happy to help :)..

The person who told me I didn't need to go in was at Downtown Fort Lauderdale. It's the same BS everywhere. I didn't want to go in because I'm in school 4 days a week and work the other one.

Believe it or not I have never being so nervous about starting school until now.:chair:

So I finally received emails with instructions for our first day of lecture and lab at South Campus. For lab it says to bring the Perry and Potter skills book & study guide with skills sheets. Are the skills sheets in the study guide? Or is this something that has to be purchased seperately?

Skills sheets will be printed from blackboard once it opens to you, she will likely explain this in lecture your first day. I'm a south campus student starting my 3rd semester and were in your shoes just a year ago. Good luck to you.

Does any1 know if we need the two Hesi books on the booklist???
