Broward College August 2011

Published

Hi guys, is anyone else working towards starting the nursing program at BC in August 2011? I am working on my last pre-reqs this semester (spring 11) and then apply and hopefully get accepted for the fall semester. I just took and passed the hesi exam last night and that is one big load off my back. I also started my hep shots since it takes 3 rounds of shots and a total of 6 months to be fully immunized. I want to have all of my ducks in order to start the program. I am undecided whether to go to south or central campus. Any advice?

To those who got accepted ..congrats! I got my email a week ago..Im soo excited but very frantically nervous..everyone is saying how hard it is! Int he meantime Ive been taking more classes so I can use them later when I go after my BSN..Ive been done with my pre reqs for a while now but was wishing to get into Nova but i didnt... its so hard!

I was scared cause I was diagoned with Breast Cancer a couple of years ago so even though my GPA was good back then I had to stop get better and continue but my grades suffered.

But I got back in the horse and it went up to 3.1 and I got a 80% in the HESI and still got in to BCC!

Im so wishing we all get thru this awesomely and that we all become great nurses!

Namaste to all!

Wow!! I'm so glad your better. Good lick in the program. What campus will u be attending?

the price seems reasonable, however it's been a couple of months so i am assuming it maybe slightly different. it does not hurt to check it out if you don't have insurance.

hello! i am just waiting on titer results now too! i didn't check prices other places, but i just got my stethoscope, light pen, and scissors today at uniform advantage on commercial and 18th ave in fort lauderdale. it cost me 27 dollars! i thought that was a pretty good price. i got my shoes from finish line for 53 dollars!

Just read this news article on MSN. Thought I'd share......

It's a serious situation. I do think firing her was too harsh-perfection is truly UNATTAINABLE no matter how we try. this was her irst error and it shud be dealt with in another way.

I can say- I am slow in terms of physical speed and how I do things-simply bcuz I make sure it is done as correctly as possible, which is not always good. But I refuse to let anyone bully me into working faster than I think is safe. Cuz I don't want to b backed up between the wall and suicide. How unfortunate- May God be with her family.:sniff:

it's certainly an unfortunate situation and since the baby died it's expected that the hospital would fire the nurse. it's obvious that the death of the child burden the nurse greatly to the point of her killing herself. such a sad story either way you look at it.

being careful is key....................................

Hello congrats to everyone who got accepted!! I got accepted for May but deferred my seat for the August term. I plan to attend the North campus, I even moved 15 mins away from there to make the transit to school much more convenient.

Does anyone know more or less what our schedules will be like?
