Broward College August 2011

Published

Hi guys, is anyone else working towards starting the nursing program at BC in August 2011? I am working on my last pre-reqs this semester (spring 11) and then apply and hopefully get accepted for the fall semester. I just took and passed the hesi exam last night and that is one big load off my back. I also started my hep shots since it takes 3 rounds of shots and a total of 6 months to be fully immunized. I want to have all of my ducks in order to start the program. I am undecided whether to go to south or central campus. Any advice?

To all of those accepted at the BCC North Campus who would like to start a study group ...lets start a trend here and give eachother our info so we can recognize eachother at the Pre- admisison meeting July 14 @ south campus!

Anyone Interested???

[email protected] here is my info...

namaste

gina, did you get an 80% overall? or in each section?

hi shepata

I got an overall of 80%

The first time I took teh hesi I got 100 in conclusions section.. AP I got 74 Math 73 grammar 85.

My overall was 79!

So i retook Math and AP

Now I have 80% overall

I think what helped me alot was my science pre reqs I have A...other stuff I hhave 1 C and mostly B's and A's but science like CHEM Micro AP 1 and 2 all A

you didnt have to take vocab or reading for the hesi?

I am really grateful for BC and plan on making every effort to be successful in this program. I took my pre-preq with MDC and applied to their FT&PT program last fall and even with a 3.6 GPA I did not get in. That semester MDC had such a large applicant pool that they had to narrow their picks down to 3.8 and above, in addition MDC gave me a hard time for having 3 "W" in science and suggested I petition to reapply. My next choice was to apply to FAU's accelerated program for start date May 2011 however when I took the HESI in November 2010(without studying) I got over 80% on all section with exception to the vocab where I got a 79%. At that point I was like damm!!!! """"Is Nursing really what I should be doing or should I just do my Masters in Health Administration and be done. How could I be so close but yet so far????"""" But now I am wise enough to realize its all about timing...........so August 18th 2011 Broward College here I come!!! Ready to learn more in order to earn more........ I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO GIVES ME STRENGTH.

~~~Here's to wishing all new Broward College Nursing Students much success~~~CHEERS!!!
what's the course code for pharm that your taking at PBSC? bc i wan't to take it, and transfer it to BC when I apply. Thank you.
It is NUR2140 bc requires only 2 credits and so does pbsc, but 3 credits is accepted-even better u dont have to do it for ur bachelors. with the 2credit- u wud b missing one for ur bsc, so it works btr. Good Luck!!!
Congrats everyone.....
I am the worlds worst student and the biggest procrastinator...I am quite smart just bit neurotic and complicated. I need to get my head in the right place pronto! I need this! I really do. I need a drastic change in my life and being a nurse is it! plus I love it...even if I didn't get paid lol. Iv'e been thru death and back and still I haven't kicked the procrastination and self loathing...self sabotaging. Still I guess god has a plan...I got into the program and Im scared ********!excuse my french. Some reason by winging it I always get the grades without even studying! I know this wont fly here.
Any advice would be appreciated..
To those who got accepted ..congrats! I got my email a week ago..Im soo excited but very frantically nervous..everyone is saying how hard it is! Int he meantime Ive been taking more classes so I can use them later when I go after my BSN..Ive been done with my pre reqs for a while now but was wishing to get into Nova but i didnt... its so hard!
I was scared cause I was diagoned with Breast Cancer a couple of years ago so even though my GPA was good back then I had to stop get better and continue but my grades suffered.
But I got back in the horse and it went up to 3.1 and I got a 80% in the HESI and still got in to BCC!
Im so wishing we all get thru this awesomely and that we all become great nurses!
Namaste to all!
