Broward College August 2010

Published

Hello!!! Just wondering if anyone else has applied for August 2010 yet? :)

I'm not sure.. This was the number I called 954-201-2350

Not yet she told me I should receive it next week. I think they might wait until applications close today.I am sure they still have seats they have to occupy. But as soon as I know I will keep you posted. I am leaning towards deferring until January. I think it is too much short notice.

What about the MMR titer?

I believe the MMR titer is $65. I just went and got that today because South Campus is requiring titers for Rubiola (mumps), Rubella, and Varicella even if you have your shot records showing you were already immunized!

Hey all, my application shows pre admission, but I did not go to the July orientation. Does anyone know of another orientation class for those accepted after July 1st?? Also, to speed things up, could someone send me either the email or the forms to get some of the paperwork started in anticipation of attending the August class?? Thanks all!

Did you recieve the email as well for the Orientation that was in July? Because yours could have probably just turned into pre admission..

Hey congrats on being accepted! If you don't mind me asking what were your HESI scores? Were they all over 75%? Thanks! =)

@Firedab- The physical form was sent to your BC email or can be found on BC's website. The background check is done online. The drug test form can be picked up at the nursing dept (bldg 8, Central Campus). They will give you the updated form to fill out at the fingerprinting place. You can do your CEU's (if you haven't already) at CEUfast.com. BLS for Health Care professionals has to be done at any American Heart Association certified place and locations can be found online...BC also has a course.

Hope this helps!

Hey how do we know if BC received our drug test, fingerprinting, and background check results?

Thanks everyone, I will get started on all those forms...

I did receive the email prior to the july 1 date but unfortunately missed the orientation. I turned in my app, was told 1-2 weeks processing, 2 days after I turned it in they sent me an email (on the 29th), which I was supposed to reply to by the 30th, and attend the class on the 1st. I did not check until the 3rd! I emailed them and they advised me another orientation would be scheduled, but I have not received that email yet... Hopefully by next week! For those who did attend the first one, did you have to sign a form or something to charge you for a drug test, which needed to be paid prior to registering?!? This is what I heard, just wondering... I want to register!!!!!

HESI-I scored above 90's on all but one section which I received a 79?!? That was one of the english segments, but my english average was an 89.

Blondie & Coda I actually became really frustrated last week and called and spoke with the Dean. She explained to me that the scores do matter, and that the scores not mattering was just a bad rumor. On their website it still states you have to take the test. If the test didn't matter then we wouldn't have to take it. I think it was all a big misunderstanding. The girl I turned my app into told me that the HESI scores didn't matter, but she was misinformed. So when I heard this I registered to re-take the math portion before the July 15th deadline. The minute I turned in my score my status changed to pre admission. I want you guys to know that if I were you I would re-take that HESI, you only need to re-take the portion you didn't pass. I paid only $59 @ FAU. The next round of admissions for January I believe are going to require HESI scores too, so just in case RE-TAKE it. The January application period starts tomorrow! Stay on top of things. I got sick of waiting and if I were you guys I would take action now before it's too late.

Yeah that sounds about right and it make sense. I only had 7 points... but i scored above 90 on just about everything on the HESI and 100 on the A&P portion. I was also told that the HESI scores didnt matter as long i had a passing score.

When did they ever say we had to go to that orientation? I believe that is for central campus students. Each campus has their own separate orientation. Ours is on Aug. 24th at south.:)

Yeah you're right... i just realized i was looking at the Central Campus form.

Wow, that is a huge book list. Central has not sent out anything in regards to our booklist or supplies needed yet. We have orientation the friday before school starts but i don't think that is enough time to get the supplies needed. Can you PM me or show me the list of the books you need? I am going to see if I can shop them online and get a cheaper price. Books are always so expensive.

Thanks in advance! :):)
