Did anyone already turn in there applications for Fall 2009 @ B.C.? because I am turning mine in next week before the deadline and now I have to wait AGAIN and keep continually looking at my e-mail and the myBC account for the Limited Access Program everyday hopefully I get in THIS TIME being my 3rd time
Can anyone recommend really comfortable shoes for the program and where to get them? How bout XS Royal scrub bottoms w/out elastic? The bookstores are too big. Thanks!
I bought these shoes from QVC (LOL, my grandmother saw them on one of the shows :wink2:) called NurseMates and they are amazing. All-white like they ask and very lightweight and comfy. They were around $55. I am completely in love with them.
what is the titer?? i am at urgent medical i brought my shot records but they r telling me i need the tdap and varicella when i already had chicken pox
you will need tdap or at least td (tdap may be the new requirement) if you haven't had it in the last 10 years. a titer is a test that tells you what you have immunity to already.
think back to micro. a titer test is one of the micro lab requirements.
i didn't need the varicella because i was immune already. some students just go ahead and take all the immunizations, but i don't see the need in getting viruses injected into my body if i'm already immune.
south campus students:did you guys get the email with the attached book list from camille? looks like they want us to buy our book from the south campus book store rather than the other campus book stores. she also says:
"if for some reason you do not get an email from your instructor, please do not panic, since you have the first week to get books; lab supplies; etc. "
lol i thought that was kinda funny. i guess students panic frequently around here.
buy your books where ever it's convienent and cheaper. of course the instructors tell you to go to the bookstore. my theory: the nursing program gets a kickback from the bookstore. you'll see what i mean when you start. they try to nickle and dime you with unneccessary supplies and expenses.

for shoes and scrubs, you can try:
uniform advantage (ua) in lauderhill near 19th street.
pro scrubs on sample rd and turnpike in pompano or on federal and 14th street in pompano
they're both listed on 411.com
Do you know the style or name? Nurse Mates has a lot of different kinds.
Well...the kind I ordered of NurseMates are the DOVE ones. The number on the box is 229904. I liked this sytle because it doesnt have any shoe laces that I have to worry about cleaning. But every one has they're own preferences. They do have many styles.
the titer test is for the varicella shot right? or it shows that you already had chicken pox or got the shot for it..and how about the other shots? as for ppd, everyone gets on right?
i did a titer for everything except the ppd and the td. the td i recently received. so, i just gave proof of the vaccine. ppd you have to do annually.
Well because I took A&P again and received an A, I have to wait until my transcripts to come in to apply which I paid for yesterday so by the end of this week or next week I will apply. THAT IS THE ONLY THING STOPPING ME
Just curious, where did you go to retake your class.. They told me that I cant redo any of my classes at a state school, only if i failed,, if i just want to better a grade, I have to attend a private school..new rule since 1997
